Dear friends and seniors,
i am bulding a yak54 laser cut in MDF. the part of wing is attched.

the hard wood part will be Devdar. (Cedrus deodara : deodar cedar, Himalayan cedar, or deodar;Sanskrit, Hindi: देवदार devadār; )
I know weight will be problem, but i think i can fix some larger size power plant.

please suggest if it is possible to build in mdf. so i can proceed with building.

thanks.

IN THRUST WE TRUST.....!!

dont know how i missed this thread....

i  would say not  to build with MDF... reasons being as u said it will be heavy... u will need ton of nose weight. and the wing loading being high... it will lag power while landing.

one suggestion would be... go   for birch ply.( available at RCD) or pick up local 1.5mm plywood... then hollow it out in the laser cutting.. my self modifying a extra 300 for the same...

else  one simple solution will be construct using balsa... if properly used, it will  cost u the same as ply. RCD and spherehobbies.. have nice stock of them

i have built a 50in span and and 50in length plane that only costed me around 2.5K on balsa.. will be posting a build log...

It seems like you have already proceeded with the cutting of the components. Suggestions don't matter any more. Just go ahead with the build and compensate. All the best, teach us.....................

Dear Seniors,
I just cut the wing part that too only ONE side (cost me only 200Rs.+ time), because i never used Balsa or ply for model making.

but after your suggestions, it will be wise to order some ply and balsa.

we will meet very soon. with nice model build log that is promise.

thank you all for suggestions and discussions.

What about Skeeter 40?
