Hi All,
Yesterday i was watching a team of workers who were working on some companies OFC cable, the team were splicing the OFC for some network in my area. i was free so i started watching them. They started peeling the thick OFC cable with some tools. inside the cable there was one cream colored solid stick which they were throwing aside. i just picked one and notice that those were solid fiber rods which was junk for them . i immediately picked all of them what ever was lying there.
You can also check nearby where any telephone guys are working on OFC. i am sure you will also get 2 mm solid fibre Rods.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Are they strong enough to be used as reinforcements for foamies (say instead of CF rods or even balsa or Kabab sticks) ?  Seems like they are bendable.

I have a huge stock of these rods now.....cut into 1 mtr each....good and somewhere similar to the black one available....used in pairs for reinforcement of wings....IT IS GOOD FOR ME UNTIL ITS FREE.......
small pieces can be esily used as pushrods.......my new Blu cub has this as a push rod of 12inch each....

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

Yes, those are called fillers. I am using HDPE carbon fibre reinforced strip that comes with Canon Photocopier cum network printer packing, as Prop in rubber powered models. Free items are everywhere.

Pics of my prop(5") is given below.

=> Little bit ballencing (Static & Dynamic) is of course required.

=> Bending of course require special technics.

Another pics of the prop(18") of my ultra slow flyer is under construction from Bamboo & Gluestick is also given herewith.

FREE MATERIALS ARE EVERYWHERE.
in 80 years back, there was no electric or RF but aeromodeling was there.

The important materials send by SAIKATDA at FREE too.
The TAN-2 Rubber.

I called it blessings of his to me.

Thanks
