Yesterday i was watching a team of workers who were working on some companies OFC cable, the team were splicing the OFC for some network in my area. i was free so i started watching them. They started peeling the thick OFC cable with some tools. inside the cable there was one cream colored solid stick which they were throwing aside. i just picked one and notice that those were solid fiber rods which was junk for them . i immediately picked all of them what ever was lying there. You can also check nearby where any telephone guys are working on OFC. i am sure you will also get 2 mm solid fibre Rods. Seems like they are bendable.

I am using HDPE carbon fibre reinforced strip that comes with Canon Photocopier cum network printer packing, as Prop in rubber powered models. Free items are everywhere.
