RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

1) What are the common brands of thread lock glue available locally in India ?

2) Do they come in both permanent and semi-permanent types ?

3) Do people here regularly use semi-permanent thread lock while fixing things like prop-savers, control linkages, wheels on landing gear using grub / set screws ?

the trade name is ANABOND.
Permanent is the red coloured Anabond. Available in 8 or 10ml plastic bottles- costs around Rs.16-18.
Called the bearing retainer or glue or something like that.
Temporary is the blue coloured Anabond which comes in similar containers for the same price. It is called thread lock.
Widely available in 2 wheeler and car repair / spare part stores and some hardware shops.

Another must have in you Glue Box.
ANABOND Thread Locker BLUE is locally available. 30Rs/- for 10ml.

Apply no more than (last) 3 or 4 turns.
Apply a single layer. Excessive use will 'weld'.
Not suitable for use on plastic, wood.

Be sure you read this thread.

The indian equivalent is called ANABOND. Very good stuff. The blue one is removable (with difficulty) and the red (Bearing sealant) is fairly permanent. Costs around Rs.20 for a 4 ml bottle.
