Mugen Seiki Rules

Checked many places, not able to find paint for lexan in India. I am specifically looking for Tamiya/Pactra paints. Since they come in Aerosol cans, no one is willing it to ship from Singapore since its a prohibited item (highly flammable). Sad

Any leads/alternatives I can turn to in India? Dont mind even if it not aerosol cans. Just the paint will be enough, can get it spray painted. Just need something that sticks to Polycarbonate materials.

There is a Nippon dealer near jain college on ph road, chennai who stocks aerosols that can be applied to pvc, so could work on lexan too. do check him out.

PVC and Lexan are different materials chemically. Doubt if it will work. I have seen this shop, dont remember the name. Will find out.

Any idea what applications polycarbonate has in India?

Polycarbonate is totally different from PET 2 different petrochemicals.

Polycarbonate is used in vast areas all over the world from automobiles, space, avaition, feeding bottles, etc. and the same goes with India. Lexan is a brand name of GE for their polycarbonate.

Mugen Seiki Rules

This was an old need. Carried them from abroad since India price from adventure wheels was high. You can't import them since courier will not accept.

Still can't find it locally. Tricity, if you have another source or cheaper than tamiya India, let me know. Need few for my rally project.

Bumping up an old thread.
Have lexan paints become available since then? I have a pro-line slip stream body that I would like to paint. Don't want to risk using a general polycarbonate paint that no one else has previously tried using.

Paint for Polycarbonate (lexan) body - available in India?

(with brand new trenchers on desperado wheels Cheesy)
I'm planning on doing a black and chrome/white combination with a few blue lines.
Would be useful if someone knows a dealer in Bangalore

Tamiya India had some paints. You might want to ask them.

this website?

It's quite expensive, 500 for a 100ml bottle! Would one bottle be enough for the entire body?

Yup, it's them.

Tamiya paints are quite expensive like you said. I think Bosny paints work well too. Ajo has more experience with painting. He should be able to help you out.

IMO, one can should be enough for a MERV body. Just check and make sure before you make your move.

I got them from Tamiya and continue to buy from them. The prices see to be more competitive now. That reminds me, I need to order few for my MBX7 buggy.
