The cockpit area is reinforce Inside with Balsa or plywood then Landing gear  area is again reinforce outside with Plywood.

how could you install an engine in a themocol  model. According to me the thermocol will melt due to the engine's heat.

Hi, Manu

The engine is mounted well out of thermocol, the cockpit area and the firewall is reinforce inside with plywood/balsa, engine mounting is being  mount on the firewall, please see the photo, I do not have a closeup view, but this might give you an idea.

The model you see on the video was build 5 years back and is still flying today, the scarcity of materials like balsa and other light materials forces us to use Thermocol but normal packing thermos are too loose so we end up on using a Thermo use for packing Fish (Fish box ... ).

Nowadays nearly all scratch build plane amongst us electric or glow (our rc Association aka. Mizoram Aeromodellers Association .(MAA) are build using thermocole

I am sharing out latest Highwing Thermo project called BIG MAA powered by 57cc DLE Gas

I was searching internet for rc thermocol model this afternoon, I find two people working on thrmocol I visit the link and what i found is  glow engine fitted aeromodel

Now what a craftsmanship it is, I even do not dream that thermocol can be use to this level

That Is very inspirational work I found today

How did you make that neat fillet at the undercarriage/fuselage joint?
And what is that bump a few inches ahead of the starboard u/c leg? Fuel overflow drain?

now a day doing some research on packing thromocol build just want to know if possible what this hot iron press is doing at this working area

is it used for the finishing the surface or for some bending twisting ..... Head Scratching
