Hello guys!!

I am new to this forum. I searched the topics relating to Airbrush Mini Compressor on the forum but couldn't find anything....I am talking about the Mini compressors which come for Rs. 5000 onwards with diaphram. I found these compressors in a lot of stores in Mumbai. Now, I need your help in purchasing one like these....My questions are as follows:

1. Are these reliable for airbrushing ?
2. What is the PSI range ?
3. How much is its life ?
4. Is Air regulator and Moisture trap necessary ?

My basic need is painting on plastic models. My airbrush is ArtMaster AC-30....Please help me guys !! Waiting for reply....

Regards,
Swapnil Sule

Moisture Trap is absolutely necessary. Even with moisture trap the accumulation of moisture in wet climate is so much that the air brush starts spitting water spray. You need to release the trapped moisture from the trap and the water accumulated condensed in the pipe often by releasing the air by keeping the airbrush at the lowest height. in relation to the compressor. Double action air brush comes very handy in this regard. single action air brush is not effective in this respect.

When you use the water based paint like acrylic it is still OK but when you use solvent based paints accumulated moisture creates lot of problems in the texture of the painted surface.

Ideal PSI required for painting is some where close to 30PSI.  Diaphragm  Pumps are the most suited for the airbrush painting. Less noisy, long duration of operation without much stress. less wear and tear, least overheating.

Life of diaphragm pumps are very good due to less wearing surface.
