And pay 70-80% more price ?? Like this 30pcs Dremel 300:

http://www.infibeam.com/Home_Tools/i-Dremel-Rotary-Tool-300-Series/P-E-HA-Dremel-300-Series.html?id=Multicolor

Infibeam is asking 6,000+, while I bought from Auth Bosch dealer in Bangalore for Rs 3700+ !! As I said in another thread, these Desi Online Shopping Cartel has turned rougue in hardly year or two's time. You cannot rely on thier pricing and should always check local shop prices. Its better to support local shops if price is no longer the benefit.

Practice, and only Practice will make you perfect

infibeam shot to prominence after an India Today article which shot thier chinese re-branded e-book called pi (http://indiatoday.intoday.in/story/E-reader+craze+to+catch+India+soon/1/81474.html).

Later on they started selling mangoes to cherries online of course for a premium for the high rollers probably.

with Ujjwal on this, 'Overpriced' is an understatement

Agreed Ujjwana!
Home Town also stocks the Dremel and on their website they claim it to be Dremel 3000 (for Rs. 6000 -  Shocked) and when I called them up they said it was a Dremel 300. We've seem similar stuff happening with Flipkart recently. And their support staff knows nothing about what they're selling.

I finally bought my Dremel 300 from Old Delhi for much lesser a price.

I have complained to Home Town about 3 times that the product description is incorrect. But today I checked and its still says 3000. You can easily confirm in the picture that its 300, not 3000

Well, it is true to much extent that most of the online portals selling different products DO NOT have any knowledge on actual products, they just care to get the details from manufacturers and do a copy-paste business, for the products which are real competitive in open market, they "may" still tend to use the same pricing strategy what they may be using as generic and tend to show great marketing offers and still gaining much more than an open market selling the same product at competive prices after adding their bit of margin.

While online culture is gaining adaptability, this is a point to consider while purchasing a product which may not be commonly bought by everyone, the prices may have huge differences.

As far as charges are concern there are lot more factors which can affect the costing. Like from where you are buying or ordering online, brand name, single purchase or bulk order etc. And electrical appliances prices vary from brand to brand, capacity and it features, etc. So for more order prefer local dealer and for online purchase start with Infibeam
This is not a valid justification. As I said in the past if Run Away Bitch marketeers think that they can lure innocent people from this forum, this again should be a gentle reminder to them.

As far as accolades to Infibeam goes (" for online purchase start with Infibeam" - get a life man!!!) it is right now no where in market cap when compared to Flipkart etc.... you can Almost ALWAYS find a better price in the local market for all items they sell online, you just need to know where to look for.

RC India - Flying and racing with open minds !

Online seller prices ought to be lesser than brick and mortar stores (owing to store rent etc), and only shipping should be extra.  That is how Amazon literally killed chains like Circuit City in the US.  But it seems that most of the indian online equivalents are much higher in price compared to physical stores, and the only advantage seems to be the large item count.

Can someone please tell me where I can purchase the Dremel 3000-30 in Bangalore for the best price? I have asked a couple of places and have got nothing less than Rs.6600, but after viewing the posts on this thread, clearly, I haven't been offered the best rate. I am also looking for the 3000 kit without the sanding and cutting guides, with the standard accessories and with the flexible shaft. Which one would that be?
