Hello,
Soldering is a key component in the performance of any electric model. Most of the times people get cold solder joints. This might be due to:
- Poor Quality Solder Wire
- No proper heating of both wire and plug
- Shaking the wire before it is completely soldered to the plug/joint.
- No use of flux (solder paste).

To avoid cold solders, and have flawless solder joints, www.rchobbyaddict.com brings Soldering Irons, Solder Wire and Solder Iron Stand.

Use the solder iron and get amazing solder joints. It will instantly heat up the plug and wire and make them catch the solder and hence make a strong joint. The solder iron has been carefully selected and brought to you so that the wire/plug gets the right amount of heat required for a good solder joint.

A good solder joint will ensure:
- Good conductivity.
- Good mechanical strength of the joint.
- Less heating of the joint.

Use the solder stand. It prevents the solder iron from touching dust and maintain the clean tip of the solder iron.

So get yourselves a good solder kit and forget cold solders ever...

Yes, I understand. But once you use it, it will be worth every penny spent. Trust me, I have tried all of these myself and then recommending these items...

Soldering Tips:
1) Use very little flux.
2) After turning on the solder iron, clean the tip with a slightly damp cloth, when tip is hot (Do not burn your hand). This can be done using a wire mesh also. This will remove the carbon and old solder on the tip and ensure good solder joints.
That is why a sponge is given with the solder stand, to clean your solder tip easily, whenever you feel carbon the carbon deposit is increasing.
3) Do not mix solders. If you are resoldering anything, try to remove the old solder as much as possible.
4) When you are done soldering, clean the tip again to remove the carbon deposit again. Tin the tip with lots of solder wire so that the tip does not get rusty after use.

DO NOT EVER EVER EVER grind your solder tip. Grinded tip do not last long, then you have to grind again and again for it to work properly... (Trust me, personal experience Smiley )

Information sharing improves knowledge of both.

I always keep solder on iron tip. Cheap Tip covered with tungsten-cromium alloy are adviced to keep dry so that inner cu wont come out and erode due to oxidation.

But molten solder on tip quickly melts the PCB solder beat/joint while touched. This is why I won't clean the tip with sponze. But the only disadvantage is while keeping iron HOT and you are inspecting/testing for long, the molten solder on Tip got an layer of oxydizing and have to thrown way or just have to check some more solder wire with resin core. The only disadvantage is Tip erode slowly and I have to replace after prolonged use.

While desoldering any Silver-Copper solder, you have to wait for long to melt and the device may damage.
The TRICK is, just add regular molten solder while taking on bit, and start regular solder to  melt more. Soon you will see, Silver solder got compounded with lead-tin solder and melts. Then just suck with de-soldering pump and you just open the joint. Specially wave soldered motherboard for computers, cellphones etc. needs this TRICK to work. Clean beat soldering iron wont work well till it is with precision temp. control.

All 60:40, 66:33, are regular solder to me. You can use ALCA-P to use Aluminium to Al and Al to Cu joint. But have to use Eyre-7 Flux only in plenty and temp. of Iron be higher than normal (And higher wattage too) so that before burning of flux, joint should be complete. [There is another secret too converting regular solder to ajustable high temp solder.]

Different flux inc. Eyre-7 [ here ]

And Alca-P [ here ]
