Where can i buy 2.5" square pvc pipes in Bangalore?

Try Iyengar Road near Kempeguda Bus stop. There are shops selling raw material for Outdoor Ad agencies (including Coro and Biofoam).

BTW I don't see very common application of square tubes, so finding wont be easy. But if you, please share then Shop info and detail of the Pipe you bought like weight / meter etc.

RC Dhamaka had some Carbon Fiber Square tubes of different sizes. Check with them as well.

Actually i need those pipes for building the fuse of my SPADET trainer..In tat tutorial they mentioned to use 2pieces of pvc pipes..If i can't get,wat can i use instead of tat or no need to use?

I have seen a gentleman at Jakkur using Aluminium Channel (U Shaped) for his Foamie Fuse. They are considerable light very strong. These Channels are used in Glass Pane Slider in Showcase for shops and Sliding Ply shutters in Kitchen etc.

I am using a similar channel in my workbench as Ruler. I can send pic if you want and it Gram /Meter weight.

I'd like to note one point SPADET is a coro plane not a foam one..

Hey guys, even i was wondering if square section PVC pipes were available in India.. Wanted to build the SPAD Debonair n it would be really easy to build the fuselage if these pipes were available.. Has anyone seen/used these before?

SPAD building require use of Imagination , there are many options available when you learn to think  beyond instructions .
Ujjwal  gave you a workable idea by suggesting  aluminum channel ,  does the pipe have to be square only  why not round.

Ismail , me  and others have built SPAD's like Spadet  and others from Spadtothebone plans  .

You can also build a  light coro fuse with formers etc  something like  those built by Ismail .

Use your own imagination guys think beyond  plans and instructions , use the instructions only as overall  dimensions  and guidelines . The Americans use square pipe because it is their standard  roof drain gutter section hence easily available there .
We need to use our imagination and resources locally available here.

THE SPIRIT OF SPAD IS  LOW COST MODEL BUILDING USING LOCALLY AVAILABLE  DAY TO DAY MATERIAL TO MAKE A PLANE  .

Actually i found some discarded tubelight covers which might be useful.. They seem pretty strong and with a little reinforcement would make a good alternative to the aluminium u-channel. Has anyone tried using these?

You can also try those flat, plastic two piece segments that are used nowadays as channel for electric wiring. It comes as two segments where the bottom one is nailed to the wall and the top segment is used to cover the wires once they are in the channel. About 20 - 30 Rs per meter from most electric equipment shops, it needs reinforcement but good and light enough for a fuse at short lenghts.

Well said Sai Sir! All plan/scratch build needs quite a bit of imagination. Even some ARF need a bit!

TG, I have checked out the Electrical Duct Channels some time back mysefl, but I did not advice as they Flex too much for a  fuse..

I would still bet on  Aluminium channels as they don't  flex at all with even .46 size planes! Somebody from Pune recently made a .46 Nitro SPAD with these channel

You could make square fuselage sections by folding coro sheets. There are plans in spadtothebone showing that. Do not hesitate to try out something one your own. If it dosen't work, then its not a problem. You just wasted a couple of hours but then you learnt something out of it.

Good Idea might be a bit heavy though  as these are normally made of Cold  rolled steel.
Might be workable for a Glow Plane though

I second that .... The Aluminum channel would be at least 4 times lighter and as strong (at much smaller size).
I played with the channel I have (its a 'W' shaped actually). Though the whole length doesn't bend on applying considerable weight (4kg), on twisting along the axis, it does wrap.

Saurabh Shrivastav has made a similar model before me using an alluminium U channel and Coro.

My unfinished SPAD debonair is made from an 8 mm coro sheet bent at the right places to form a square tube. This takes a little calculation but a lot of hard work.

I started on a SPAD extra today and plan to reneforce the coro (Polycarbonate) fuse with ply formers.
It can be done, and as everyone says just use ur imagination and u'll come up with something.
To top it off SPAD's are experiments and the ones that fly are the experiments that have gone right.

Sai uncle, i was refering to the white plastic covering on the front of the fancy tubelights.. Its light n quite strong.. It reminded me of the square pvc gutter pipe when i saw it.. Its like the square cross section but with 1 side missing (u channel)..

Ohh Even I thought you are talking the Tueblight metal frame itself on which tube have been fitted traditionally.
 
Those Translucent plastic covering are really stiff, but I wonder why people use them as they waste energy.

Why are people shying away from aluminum tubes used with mosquito Nets uses in beds etc ? circular tubes would give maximum strength. Hollow CF Rods would be the best, but at heavy cost.

I would go with PVC Electrical conduit  with a few strategic cust to lighten it .
Each tube will be at best around Rs 30 -40 per length of 8 ft.

Sai sir do you mean the Plastic Tube and not the square one ? I guess the 15mm+ tubes are good till 75cm fuse as they hold good against flexing.

Will try electrical conduit for my next build.. Still no answer to the original question though.. are square pvc pipes available in india? I has seen a ad somewhere for square pvc pipes.. It was advertised for use in poultries to feed chickens or somethin.. Haven't been able so find any though..
