UHU Por is a good adhesive and is widely used amongst hobbyists. It works great on foamies.

I've tried but couldn't find it in India. Since, you mentioned your friend's traveling abroad, you might be able to get it from there.

I think these 2 glues are same UHU POR and UHU expanded polystyrene. As there is UHU expanded polystyrene available nearby my friends locality.

All purpose glue may eat depron.

Here’s a pic of what I’m using for depron. Cost 17 Saudi Rial, about Rs 140. Has not dried up and still in use after 3 years!

And a link to a local source. Rs 350, but packing looks different.

https://www.skybluestationerymart.com/products/uhu-expanded-polystyrene-adhesive-33ml-37590?currency=INR&variant=40370353504442&gclid=EAIaIQobChMI75Wese7m9wIVb5lmAh2VUAXyEAQYBCABEgLDevD_BwE

Hope this helps.

Hi,
The link u send for UHU expanded polystyrene glue.. Is good for depron or not?

I haven’t used it so I don’t know.
It was just a suggestion based on what I could find, not a guarantee!

I already said the packing looks different.
Here’s a pic from the site.
Compare it with my pic.
There are some more differences.
It is 33ml, mine is 50ml.
It says ‘expanded polystyrene’, mine says ‘expanded polystyrene glue’.

All I know is that mine works with depron.
You’ll have to get a sample and try.

Here’s an example.
Last week I built a depron model with UHU POR.
For the motor mount I wanted 5 min epoxy.
The shop didn’t have Araldite Klear, so they gave me Bondtite, a quick setting epoxy.
It smelt bad, heated up a lot, solidified while mixing, and dissolved the depron.
After some more search in local shops, finally got Araldite Klear, which worked as it always had.

So till you try whats locally available, you won’t know if it works or not.

Was only trying to help, sorry if I lead you astray...

Regards

Hi Iyer sir,

Hi Jassie_70953,

If your friend is bringing it from abroad then may want to try Foam Tac glue. Works very well. I still have UHU Por for foam and the large tube still works great after a decade. Have had good experiences with both.

Info on Foam Tac: https://www.beaconadhesives.com/product/foam-tac/

If i may suggest, you can try out Fevicol 1K PUR it also works well with foam, similar to gorilla glue.
Ive tested Heat X, foam fix and many more glues for depron, but they all ended up burning through the foam.
The problem is all these glue use a solvent which eats through the foam.
But not the Fevicol 1K PUR, this thing work with depron. Also you can try polyfix high viscosity glue with activator.
This glue would also work like a super glue. Just go easy with the activator as thats the solvent.

Regards.

1K PUR is a great product. The only issue I have faced is getting it in a small packing. Typically 500 g or 1 Kg. And if not used soon it will harden in the pack
