To all my friends "HAPPY LANDINGS"....

Hi Guys,
I thought I will share how all members of our club are storing and carring their Lipos.

Ammunation Boxes from Army & Navy Surplus Shops/Stores.
The pictures how I converted them for myself should help explain this topic...

I also keep them in metal tiffin boxes. I have drilled four holes in four corners, so that if it catches fire, the smoke and gas has way to escape. I wrap the lipos in plastic papers so that the leads don't get in contact with the steel. I had chosen the steel boxes as melting point of steel is higher than temperature of lipo fire.

I don't think LiPos will catch fire when not being used. Most of the fire is during the use or charging or and tearing or damage to cells. Anyways better to be cautious then to be sorry later!  Hats Off

I use fireproof lipo charging bags to charge them.
However I have seen a video in youtube where some people in a RC shop were doing something and all of a sudden one of the packs exploded, without any reason.
As you said @Himadri, better to be safe than sorry  Salute

Yes I used to do the same before but I had lined the inside of the boxes with Depron so do not have to insulate the terminals.

If you don't drill holes, chances are it will explode causing more damage.
Remember how at Diwali we used to light Sutli bombs with overturned buckets and the buckets would go flying up in the air.
