Learning to Fly

I think, from what I have seen in the image - this is EPP.....
Quick test - try and press it, normal thermocol and even biofoam would leave an impression of your fingers, EPP would kind of bounce back - much like soft pencil eraser

If it is EPP, then just build whatever you feel like.....

This is not Thermocole of any kind. No Thermocole can bend that much. Are you sure that this is not the priceless EPP foam that we salivate about?
VC bhai, that material, apparently, seems to have all characteristics of EPP!

Re:

This does not look like epp to me. This is just normal packing foam. The white cushioning foam that comes with electronic goods.

EDIT : After looking at some of the later pictures, it is certainly not packaging foam. I think that this could be epp.

Why don't you try building something with it, my friend? Cheesy
Everyone here are puzzled about what exactly the material is, so you can't expect anyone to tell you with all their confidence that you can build a proper model with it. So now, get experimenting.

I think you should try to sand it with water proof sandpaper, If it become soft and smooth, you can make a plane with this foam. Roll Eyes

It does. 10mm thick sheets of low density thermocol can actually bend quite a bit before giving away.

You can still build a model with it.
Recently, I visited a fellow RCI member ''bmblb'' (his profile-- http://www.rcindia.org/profile/?u=877) and I was surprised to see him build and fly models out of normal thermocol that you find in stationery shops. He had used packing tape over the thermocol to prevent it from shattering, he said it works great for him.
PM him for further clarifications.
