I am looking for 1mm/1.5mm/1.8mm Piano wire in Bangalore. I called few Piano shops in Bangalore like Furtado/Thomson and they told I need to contact Piano manufacture.

I saw this gentleman in Jakkur (who comes along with his brother) last week using similar rods for his foamies. I had previously purchased some Rod/spring wires from SP road and they are no good.

I am a Corogamist!

I would suggest you to visit the local automobile market. The spring shops that do the shock absorber springs should be able to make the landing gear as per your specification.

Would cycle spokes not do for push rods? Making Z bends both at the control horn and servo ends do the trick right?

@Izmile - I have already been to such spring shop but they don't have the material I need.
@Doc  - I have got 2-3 cycle spokes whose thread perfectly fit in nylon clevis I have. But these are heavy (6g) and best fir for heavier Balsa models. I making light Foamies to begin with, and I need lighter material.
@Raj : Do you know proper name of the shop ? Contact number would be great!!

Thanks folks for the reply

Namma Bangaluru flyers, any more directions ?

Have u thought of single core alluninium or copper wire the one that is used in electricical fittings. Though they do not have threads but they would be light, sturdy and then u can always make the Z bend.

Doh, I thought we had decided on using those wires for landing gear! I never knew you were not satisfied even with the push rods.

Ashta, I have those dental wires got from the same shop, the fatter ones are not very springy! And they cannot be used for landing gears.

I am reviving this thread of mine as I am again in search of the Push Rod Wire. Some time back I got some 'Rolled' spring rods from 'Reliance Steel Springs' in SP Road's by lanes (much towards end of the SP road). When one of my friends Bala used that wire, it did not straighten much and used to tend to go to its 'Cruved' position on servo Arms pushing them.

I am looking for kind of push rods one gets on Foamie ARF like those in AXN floater from Hobby King or Easy Star.

There are many scratch builder from Bangalore and I hope some body remembers where they got the correct wire.

No one Learns flying without crashing

There is a shop here in Delhi which sells 1mm to 1inch thick rods of metal which i used in my truck.
i request Mr Anta to post the pics of the push rods.
Also the rods are flexible as well as good for making z bends.
