Wingbags, anyone ?
Wanted to chekc if anyone here uses Wingbags ? I was thinking of getting one for my upcoming gasser. A small car, many planes to fit in is a sure cause to get dents on the wing.
Here is one site i found :
http://www.hobby-pak.com/indexmain.htm
Any Indian dealers stocking this ? BTW i think it would be nice to get such suits stitched locally. Would be for much less, and i think there should be a market for it ?

Re: Wingbags, anyone ?
A fellow Keralite flyer got nice wingbags made from somewhere in Bangalore. I remember taking a 120 size plane (Extra 330) to Kerala with him from Bangalore, and it was a snug fit.
Santhosh, can you check with Kunjai where he got the wing bags made ? May be Aadi also knows.

I think its just a matter finding a good Bag/Briefcase repairer guy who makes cover for Suitcase/Briefcase. He must be having a strong sewing machine and thick material, foam, long zipper etc. Go to the traditional market places, and I bet even smallest town must have such shop.
Heyy!! How about buying some thing like a Coffin ?

Re: Wingbags, anyone ?
Actually both myself and Santhosh forgot to update this thread, although we discussed it offline. Our friend got it from Chennai, and it was arranged by a friend of his named "Guru". Not sure if it is the same Guru that Chan here flys with.
Chan, can you check with your friend Guru, and see if you can locate the source for making wing bags ?

Hi Anwar,
I think it must be my friend Guru only because I have seen his wingbags. Beautifully made!! I would enquire and let you know where he gets it done! A lot of other fellow flyers also get their wing bags locally sourced. Try locating some car seat makers locally, they can really help you with this!!

@Gaurav - There you have it. A possible location solution, and a somewhat confirmed remote solution !

Re: Wingbags, anyone ?
The difference is [1] the "snug" fit and [2] the amount of foam (or other kinds of) padding that provides extra protection.
Balsa aircraft with the monokote (or whatever type of plastic sheet type of covering) is always in serious risk of getting punctured during transport, and protecting them is a must.
Although one can fix it with additional layers of "kote", it is work that is unpleasant, and is generally best avoided.

Thanks, I would be getting a wingbag made soon, and would update this thread if all goes well.

Ankur,
As anwar said a properly made wingbag protects the wings from damage. Once you get to big airplanes you would naturally start needing these things in order to keep your RC gear looking new !
