Aliexpress offers Lipo with Turkey Post as shipping method. Takes time, but eventually will reach you.

Isn't it caught by Indian Customs?

Does anyone have any prior experience of importing lipo in this manner?

If you are wise about it, then no. So far, my batteries from AE have never been detained. You shouldn't order more than 2 in quantity and tell the seller about the customs problems while placing the order and they take care of the rest.

Ali Express sells rubbish LiPo's

If you want top quality (for which you must pay top $ ) go for Revo. http://revolectrix.com/

A good compromise between quality and price are brands like Tatu and GensAce, which are available locally.

In the long run, buying poor quality LiPo's costs you more. Good Lipos, kept properly, will last a very long time, and perform to their rating

Firstly, like Sanjay sir has mentioned, the LiPo batteries available from AE are not that good. Go for them only if you have no other option. GensAce and Tattu are available in India and are rather good. Getting LiPos from outside is risky (irrespective of their quality). Try to find the LiPo you need locally first.

Received my LiPo today from AliExpress.
This one:
https://www.aliexpress.com/item/Lion-power-3S-11-1v-4200mah-Lipo-Battery-30c-For-Helicopter-Four-axis-RC-Car-Boat/32757179890.html

Ordered on 14th May, but was shipped only on 1st June. Reached my local post office on 12th June. I was waiting for it to be delivered to me. Today, I went to post office to check. Gave them the tracking number. They found the parcel. My name and address was completely washed out by moisture. Only the tracking number was visible.
  :headscratch:

Charging it up, and will test it's endurance.

I don't know much about LiPos sold on AE but you can certainly find genuine Samsung, Panasonic 18650 LiIons on AE. Also There are many stores offering top quality products on AliExpress. There are many sellers(too many of them) who sell clones, copies and only a few who sell genuine stuff. The classical example being the famous MG995 and MG996 servos. I have bought both original and clones from AE.

You just need to be careful and do your homework when buying RC related stuff on AliExpress. I have got some of the best and some of the worst/horrible quality products from AliExpress.

A good compromise between quality and price are brands like Tatu and GensAce, which are available locally.

In the long run, buying poor quality LiPo's costs you more. Good Lipos, kept properly, will last a very long time, and perform to their rating

I completely agree with that.

Why not we make a thread listing Genuine sellers on AE so its easy for new/beginner Indian Hobbyist/RC Enthusiats don't fall in the trap? I can help building that list :) If Anwar has read this, would like to know his thoughts.
