I have been saving for some time to buy this beast
now the issue i have is where can i get it from
i searched in tower hobbies & rc planet they both ship to india
but being a order around 400$ will i be imposed with huge customs??
also the kit in india is around the 35k mark i guess which is 5k more than my whole budget includin the servos and radio et al
also which is more reliable when dealing with shipment??
i searched on google and found mixed reviews...
need help!!! Help Me

also my cousins are coming from singapore so is it a better option to ask them to get it for from them and then disassemble the kit and carry it with them??
what sites to order from singapore?

Dude buy it locally and if u r a noob DONT buy a kit!
just buy the RTR!
And the kit price in india is definitely not that high!
If you are from Bombay call Siddarth on 9820164938, he deals with HPI

Mugen Seiki Rules

The joy of building a kit is really something to experience. I had immense joy when I build my Baja and even more when I rebuild it. The HPI manuals are awesome and makes it very easy for begginers. Go ahead and get the Savage SS. But check with Sidd on India price. Much cheaper these days.

The only issue is cost and time. I spend hours and a bomb building the Baja where I could have got the RTR much cheaper. I dont have that much time to spare now, so will be looking at RTRs in the future and will rebuild during regular maintainence.

It is amazing how the build process of these cars have evolved over the years. I started with building the Tamiya kits including the Mitsubishi Pajero, Manta ray, Bull head etc where i thought it couldnt get any better, but HPI has taken it to a new level with the Baja SS.

My advice is start with an RTR and then move onto Kits when u get a little more experience. Like Ajo said, eventually u will have to rebuild the RTR for maintaince so u can experience a build at that point in time.
