Hi,
I need a 6ch or 8 ch Tx&Rx under 10K what is your suggestion!?
i finally decided to make time for my hobby (BTW i was only a beginner earlier and still am ) and my come back with a 450 quad. But i have a old but rarely used futaba 6exap pcm. but the new stuff all work better with a 2.4G. I want to try EPs for sometime before i get back to nitro! I am also thinking about a easy flyer EP plane like easy star multiplex (dont mind a second hand)

or just keep the radio and hack or mod it to 2.4ghz frsky (tx/rx combo should come under 3800/-) plus it has telemetry and the reliability of futaba gear.

Thanks Guys! Great advice! and timely as well!

I have couple of queries!
1. Is Turningy really a good Tx! (I only ask this since none of the folks i fly with now seem to regard it as so... so in that case... What if am willing to up by budget by another 2-3k? Do you think there is a good deal out there that can get be a futaba or JR?
2. My current futaba is mode 1 and i want mode 2 - would the 6exap mod wirth frsky allow that?

yes but channel locations will change.

On the Futaba you can change modes very easily. I too switched my Futaba 6ex from Mode 1 to Mode 2 myself. Channel locations DO NOT change (i.e. Ch1 Remains Aileron, Ch2 Elevator, Ch3 Throttle and Ch4 Rudder).

To change the mode:
1. Open the Tx.
2. Remove the Throttle ratchet from the Right gimbal and attach it to the left one.
3. Remove the spring from the Left gimbal and attach it to the Right gimbal.
(Tip, the spring is a little hard to reach. I wrapped a thread around the spring and pulled it off. Similarly, you can use the thread to put it back on)
4. Now, you need to change the setting in the Tx from Mode 1 to Mode 2:
To change the mode, simultaneously depress the MODE and SELECT keys, then turn on the power. The current mode will appear on the LCD screen. Push the DATA INPUT lever up or down to change the mode.

5. You're done.

Since you already have a tx, I would not suggest buying another one. I too would suggest getting the FrSky 2.4GHz Module.

You can refer to the following video as well:
