Title: Need burnt motors for a dummy model.
Post by: Shehwar on March 14, 2013, 01:24:21 PM
Hi,
I'm a B.E engineering student and am working on a quadcopter as my final year project.
My quadcopter build is going fine but the main point is that the project needs to be submitted to the college.
I do not wish to submit it as it is a highly costly project(almost :Rs: 30k) and more importantly it'd be a waste of the efforts of all those who have helped me build this project. :'( :-\
As my research paper is based mainly on the mechanical aspects and the electronic sensor communications related to the sensor<->Micro-controller working, a working model ain't necessary.
Hence i need 4 burnt motors of the same dimensions to create a dummy model of the same. :help: :help: :help:
I have a dji 450 copy frame.
Please help me out.
I'd be highly grateful to you...
Regards,
Shehwar.

Forgot to add :

Will be trading for a brand new re-flashed Simon-k 30amps ESC to one who can offer 3 or all 4. (:|~

You wont find any easily :( Buy new motors for about Rs.300-Rs.400 each(used!)

The reason i'm not buying any "working " parts is because it would be a total wastage of money.
I had originally planned to make this project and enhance it after i got it back.
But the college is forcing me to submit it and it's highly frustrating. :banghead: :banghead:
Hence after spending  :Rs:30,000 after it i don't want to give it away just for it to end up like a piece of trash in a locked up room.
And don't get me wrong...but the money spent was highly out of the initial budget and i can't let such an amount of my parent's hard earned money to go to waste... :'( :'(
I don't mean any disrespect but hope you understand my point.

I have
1) 1* 2830-11 1000kv motor,
2) 4* 3.17mm prop adapters
3) 2* hxt 9g servos

for trading against 4 motors.
these are all the items i ordered for my build

Shehwar, if all this is only for a 'Dummy' model, why don't you buy some cheap brushed motors (available in Mumbai for Rs.20/- each) and fix the props to it. Why do you need burnt out brushless motors. As long as it looks authentic, you are safe.

Go a step further and solder a third wire to the motor (Positive, Negative and Dummy) to give it the appearance of a brushless motor.

That is the problem....  :(

I was first planning to do the same. But our project guide is a robotics teacher. And he knows about multirotors.... :-(

What about CD rom motors? They are authentic brushless with 3 wires. But then, if your guide is knowledgeable, he will see through that too. :banghead:

VC Sir,
That is the reason I posted this thread... :P
The motors are all I need. I have a crapy clone frame and damaged props already :giggle:
