Hi,

I got in this hobby about 12yrs back when I was in 8std, due to studies I couldn't persue the hobby for a long time. Back then I had got p40 (courtesy NRI Uncle), and was scratch built. Unfortunately I messed it up on couple of flights.

Getting back to real time Getting i was looking out for a rc scale kit made from balsa, would any one know where can i get it in India?

There is a wonderful collection of scale balsa kits at RC Bazaar. www.rcbazaar.com
You could try something they have to offer.

Thanks,
Aravind

I have already visited RC Bazaar, though they have great collections or RC Kits but they are not suitable for nitro, as they are too small (I am looking for size .40). I have also heard people get balsa sheets cutted out (through laser cutting) according to scale plans available over the internet, I am curious if these plans are actually good? Has anyone tried building a scale plane out of it?

How much experienced you are with flying itself ? FLying, Scratch building and then 'Scale' Building are three 'Difeerent' things. After parallely working on 5 self cut Balsa/Ply kits, I think there was huge amount of learning in every aspect of building. Still I feel I am far from attempting Scale models (Donco and FlyingBoxCar here are few of scale experts).

What I would suggest is to buy a Foamy Glider like Easy Star-II Or Sky Surfer and brush up your orientation etc. Then start building a good trainer , if you insist on Scratch/Plan build like me. Build 2-3 intermediate planes then foray into Scale. You can start with Cessna/Calmato/Tiger trainers whose plans are available on the net.

Thanks Kalyanprodhan, the links were great..thanks for sharing them......

Ujjwanna, I do not have much experience in flying, but I always wanted to build a piper cub j3.This would be a long project for me but at the same time for my regular flying I use pt40, I also practice flying on aerofly sim almost daily.
