Title: Reciever crystal for hitec micro 05S receiver
Post by: allthatido on December 04, 2009, 01:22:00 AM
hi guys

I require a crystal for my micro receiver from hitec...micro 05S

http://www.hitecrcd.com/receivers/show?name=Micro+05S

My transmitter is on the frequency 72.130 ie channel no 17. Or i can buy a pair of tx and rx crystals...any retailers out there??/

Note: Rx is hitec  make (preferably requires a hitec crystal) and Tx is of Futaba make (preferably requires a futaba crystal)..with same frequencies.

i even wrote a mail to rotor.co.in but no replies yet.

Mr Rao..we know that you are a dedicated Hitec user..looking forward for your guidance in this matter.
Please help

well the manual for the receiver says..it is compatible  with hitec crystals only..so i guess there might be some glitch or receiver range issues...m not sure..may be someone who has tried a hitec receiver with a different crystal can pitch in...

Mr Sai can you please give some inputs???

Dear Ankur,
it seems the Tx and Rx's crystals for Ch 17 are available at RCFORALL as a set. Since you need only Rx crystal call Mr.Sai at RCFORALL to find out. Mr.Sai is very customer friendly and he might be willing to sell the Rx crystal only. Make sure that the crystal is a Hitec SC receiver crystal.other brand crystals will not work.
regards,
Rao.

This is an interesting thread on Futaba Hitec crystal compatibility.

http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3093576/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

Although lots of people discourage putting another brand crystal in one brand of RX, the overall conclusion seems to be that it works in most cases, as long as you stick to the conversion type (single conversion versus dual conversion).

Also, it seems that you do not have many options to try in India either.  If you want absolute peace of mind, consider importing a Hitec mini crystal itself.  The shop (India/aborad) that sold you the receiver did not have any mini crystals ?

This one from Tower

http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXHHS1**&P=7

is claimed to work on everything !

Not sure if it is the same one that Sai has.

I can  confirm that Crystals from GWS , W Fly , etc etc  works with every kind of receiver but HITEC .
I have had  cases of it working with some Hitec receivers and not working with some  the  experience with hitec is 50/50  hence cannot say for sure . The crystal set comes in pair hence cannot be  sold separately.

I have the W Fly pair  but cannot and will not   guarantee  performance with Hitec .Hitec is always a problem when it comes to crystals other than hitec

No anwar the shop that sold me the receiver didn't have any crystals. :banghead: :banghead:

the issue is that i don't have a credit card and somehow pay pal wont link to my hdfc debit card so no payment mode  :violent: :violent: except for  telegraphic transfer  :giggle: which costs additional 25 $ fee... :giggle:

rotor has hitec crystals but don't know if they are for micro receiver (have sent a mail)...if someone is ordering from hobby shops abroad...plz help me if you can..will pay in advance if you want

(what was i thinking wen i got that receiver without a crystal  :banghead: :banghead: :violent: :violent:)

Dear Ankur,
it would be a better choice to purchase the set of both Tx and Rx crystals from Mr.Sai than importing from Tower or any other on-line shop located abroad. Purchasing from Sai would be far cheaper than importing in this particular case. Also any SC crystal of Hitec will work, there is no need for any special Micro crystals.

Rao.

After a lot of  :banghead: :banghead:

i came across this....a light at the end of the tunnel

http://www.paylessflymore.com/products.asp?cat=84&pg=1

these are hitec crystals..so they are compatible with my reciever..but they dont have the channel 17 ie 72.130. The available frequencies are 72.110, 72.210, 72.410, 72.510, 72.610, 72.710, 72.810.

If i buy any of these i stuck up at the other end..as i now require a Tx crystal compatible with futaba on any one of the frequencies.

Are hitec crystals compatible with Futaba Tx..cause paylessflymore does have matching crystals for tx but of hitec make. Has anyone tried that????

( :argue: This reciever cant be used as paper weight also  :violent: :banghead:)

Also any SC crystal of Hitec will work, there is no need for any special Micro crystals.

Mini/micro crystals are smaller in size, and cannot be substituted via regular size crystals (unless you want to try soldering additional "legs" of different thickness and distance between them).

But in this case, the "micro" part misled me and according to Tower (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXKYK5), this receiver takes normal crystals (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPX96), and is auto-shift.  There is a good chance that pretty much any ch17 crystal (Futaba/Hitec) will work, with Hitec being the preferred option.

If you have any access to ch17 crystal of any type (LHS, friends etc), try one first.  Be sure to do a range check before attempting a flight.

Note: All previous links I posted were "micro" type, and they would NOT fit this receiver.  Sorry for the confusion.

these are hitec crystals..

How are you sure they are Hitec crystals ?  They generally have a green wrapper from what I see in pictures.

off topic...

Mr Sai...what is the weight of the 4mm hollow carbon rod you are selling???/

I am planning to buy a few things from you...is their any discount scheme going for rc india members???

About the DYS 9g servo 206 and desire 11.1 v 850 mah lipo...how good are they??? i mean their performance...especially the lipo as i dont have a digital balancer/charger and will b using a standard wall charger for charging it. What are the failure rates of the 9g servos??

I hope you understand my concerns as a buyer..i dont want to risk my other rc equipment or plane due to mid air servo failure or other issues.

i am planing for the following set up...

motor  : axi 2208/34
esc     : jeti 8 amps
prop    : 9x4.7 gws
lipo     : desire 11.1v 850 mah

I think a 37 inch WS depron model with 4mm carbon fibre wing rod should weigh around 150gms(maybe less)..what do you say???
with that the AUW sould be in the 300-400 gms range

Ankur
