i want cheap.. on ebay.com they apm 2.6 is avaliable with neo 6m compass and power module in 70 dollars. but afraid of custom duty and confused is this genuine or fake or clone here is link. plz check

It is almost definitely a clone/ fake. Real 3DR APM units are around 200 dollars. At least the quadkopters one is supposed to be a DiyDrones approved clone. With EBay ones, it is hard to know about the quality. RCNitesh had mentioned that he saw an APM 2.6 auction for $1. Customs should not be too much of a problem unless you order radio equipment like a telemetry set. I am not sure what the duty would be like. Plus, shipping will take a while. I think the quadkopters one is worth the price for reliability and fast shipping. If you are willing to wait and risk quality, you could get one from Ebay. Have you decided between APM and Naza yet?

no confused between naza or apm

Naza is more expensive but comes with excellent out of the box stability. APM requires more setup but I find that it has really cool features such as setting up auto flips on your Tx 2 position switch. If you are interested in aerial photography, go for Naza. Otherwise I would recommend APM or maybe the Crius AIO (has most of the same features).

no i am making quad for hobby flying. not yet decided for which purpose should i use??

If this is your first quad, I would suggest the kk 2.1. It is easy to use and setup and is good for beginners. It is quite cheap as well (2100 on quadkopters)

If you have time and knowledge to set up an APM, it is the best option budget wise and performance wise.
If you have big pockets and no time for setting and tuning go for NAZA, don't look back.

i already hav  a quad with kk2.1 but i am not satisfied with that. it is not stable. so i decided to make quad with carbon fibre frame and advanced flight controller.

which type of set up does apm requires. coz i dont know any type programming. i sold my multiwii coz of programming..

No such programming is required, but you should have basics, But, If you are a noob there, get NAZA>

can anybody tell me why 3DR Radio Telemetry Kit 433Mhz , MAVLink-OSD V2.0 is needed in apm is it necessary to use this with apm.

Title: Re: wanted flight controller...
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 01, 2014, 10:32:38 PM
No Telemetry kit is necessary when you plan using telemetry and OSD is necessary if you want OSD with your FPV.

Title: Re: wanted flight controller...
Post by: gunnu on December 01, 2014, 10:34:24 PM
what is purpose of telemetry kit in apm 2.6

Title: Re: wanted flight controller...
Post by: sooraj.palakkad on December 01, 2014, 10:35:24 PM
But CC3D has only simple flight controlling, no GPS, Altitude hold no return to home :( .
But it's performance is .
As it is open source, everything will evolve as happened in multiwii and APM , it is only a matter of time I hope. !

@gunnu, telemetry is just a data link from your multicopter to your ground station, for getting live flight data.the APM sends detailed data about flight controller status and location information from a GPS module over a radio link to the ground station for use with the GS software for flight planning and monitoring.

APM sends data that is intended for use with the ground station for waypoints or completely autonomous flight, by adding a Mavlink OSD you can capture some of that data to be displayed as an overlay on the video stream for FPV flight whether it be through goggles or by a monitor of some sort.

It's advisable to use a Telemetry if you plan to use mission planning and all other advanced features in APM>

The openpilot CC3D board allows to connect a GPS module. But it does not feature altitude hold or Return to home or way point navigation,. The GPS module is only for aiding location data in telemetry. Thiat is what I know about CC3D, I haven't used this board, but have heard it's stability is superior. People who have experiance with this board please correct if I am wrong.
@cyberhack, Visit this original openpilot wiki : http://wiki.openpilot.org/display/Doc/GPS+Add-on (http://wiki.openpilot.org/display/Doc/GPS+Add-on)
& yes I made a deep research and comparison through different flight controller platforms (H/W and S/W) and especially opensource ones, before I got in to building a Quad :)

@sooraj sir. should i go for this
http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Naza-M-Lite-New-Version-Multi-rotor-Flight-Control-with-LED-PMU-Module-/251649557355?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a977b836b (http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Naza-M-Lite-New-Version-Multi-rotor-Flight-Control-with-LED-PMU-Module-/251649557355?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3a977b836b)

it doesnot not include compass. is compass is important. or i can fly without compass...

Well, NAZA is just a simple flight controller like CC3D or APM or multiwii, If you use it with out GPS and compass, it can only provide you self leveling, which a simple multiwii, or CC3D also provides.
If you are only looking for a easy to set up and fly Flight control board, and you already used KK2, then the nxt best option is CC3D, it's also almost PnP.
But if you want more sophisticated features like altitude hold , RTH, Waypoint navigation, Go for APM in a cheap budget or NAZA with GPS in a bigger budget.
If you plan to stick with NAZA, get it with GPS and compass, to enjoy it's full functionality,
Like this one : http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Naza-M-Lite-GPS-Combo-Naza-Lite-DJI-NAZA-MG-Lite-Flight-Control-Controller-/261508462505?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ce31e77a9 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/DJI-Naza-M-Lite-GPS-Combo-Naza-Lite-DJI-NAZA-MG-Lite-Flight-Control-Controller-/261508462505?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3ce31e77a9)

Or if you are going to get APM, it have all the functionality of NAZA at a price lower than half that of NAZA :
http://www.ebay.com/itm/APM2-6-ArduPilot-Mega-2-6-External-Compass-APM-Flight-Controller-Board-w-6M-GPS-/131288578417?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9168b971 (http://www.ebay.com/itm/APM2-6-ArduPilot-Mega-2-6-External-Compass-APM-Flight-Controller-Board-w-6M-GPS-/131288578417?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item1e9168b971)

Hey dude, Ardupilot project is open source, means, it's Software as well as H/w is open to the public, Just like arduino, here you can't say you need the original one because there is no original one, unless some one calls the 3DR produce is original, in a literal sense, (as they produced it first),
Even I can manufacture and distribute such a board with or with out profit- no one will ask. As it is opensource,
So get something that is looking good to your eyes !!. Yes that's it  !
Also when buying from ebay, consider the reputation of seller, (If top rated, the best).
The one you mentioned above seems reliable.

Another option for you is to get a crius AIO board, In which you don't have to worry of clones, CRIUS brand is printed only on the ones produced by CRIUS, CRIUS has all the functionality and features of APM and has portability feature to Multiwii too, hence the name All In One !
