I am embarrassed because I cannot put the grommet in the canopy. Tried all the suggested methods, including boiling them in water, using a dishwasher liquid.. but it still dont go in !

hi ebin... not sure where you are having the issue.. make the hole on the canopy a little bit larger and just push / slide the grommets in?..

I am afraid I might make the hole bigger and make the grommets "loose" inside it. This will cause vibrations on the canopy and can even break in between right ? I am just pushing the grommet into the hole "sideways" but it only goes 1/4th. I dont want to further enlarge the hole as I am afraid it will make the grommet move loose inside.

Ebin ,

I think you are over excited and because of which issues are looking magnified. Make a hole and try to fit the canopy, if you can't fit the gourmets,  increase the dia by using a round file. still can't again file and try.. Hardly takes 2~3 attempts man.. And all the vibration thing.with canopy are negligible don't worry ..

Hi Srivatsa, thanks for the tip...it worked...but I also managed to crack the canopy while doing it ! haha...its ok though because i am happy with the perfect no play fit.

Yes, I am a little excited monkey as this is my first heli build in my life. May be I will slow down a bit after I have assembled like 50 or 75 helis in the coming 20 or 30 years Smiley

This forum has given me so much information and support and encouragement on reviewing the beginner heli,  choosing the heli, building the heli, so I better give something back by reviewing and logging my build experience which will be an encouragement for others or I dont consider fit to be in a forum. So I will scribble every concern I have Smiley Its give and take Smiley See how excited I am again ! Smiley

Sorry to hear that it cracked .. But from your response it looks like its working and usable , glad for that,.. I should have mentioned that to increase the dia, you need to put the round file in the hole and rotate it rather than moving it to and fro, FG canopies are very delicate and crack easily.
