Do you prefer RTF complete with battery and charger or will you build a kit and find your own board/RX/TX?

well, check quadkopters.com . There are 2 mini quads which come with a small remote aswell. and are ready to fly. I recommend quadkopters.com :)
Or
Make your own which will cost more.

Spherehobbies, dont you recommend DJI 330 quadcopter for newbies? I dont think DJI is easy for a beginner who is new to RC.

Hello Rahul

For a beginner, the best deal would be Phantom.

You do not need to learn soldering, flying, screwing of motors properly and finally programming of control boards. All these follows trial and error of flights.

All these works can be avoided by simple 15 minutes of work. No special skill is required for flying as one is safe under GPS. More over if you plan to fly Phantom for professional photography or for fun, it is ready with GOPro mount.

F330 requires radio, battery, charger, controller etc..

To keep the project within budget, beginner would run around for cheap radio, motor, controller and project length would go to month or more.

In our opinion, what is required for beginner is fast result with less pain. This way one stays longer in this hobby. Let us know what you think.

Guys

The price 39.5k with duty paid is unbeatable in India. Please refer prices worldwide. You would find no difference. We guarantee price match accept USA prices which is lower by US$ 30/- (aprox Rs. 1700). Cheers... ;D

May we request you all to suggest similar machine with similar feature at lower price?

Thanks guys for the suggestions.
I would prefer RTF without tx as i have a turnigy 9x with me.
The Phantom looks like a grt quad but its out of my budget initially.
I m loking to spend around 10 to 15k. If I enjoy quads then definitely I will go for the likes of Phantom etc...

How is this config looking.
Q450 with multiwii 328p

Dear Sphere hobbies
Your f550 cost 26,106 inc tax
And naza fc + gps cost 29,095 incl tax
And the total will be 55201/- Leave about the shipping cost...

I bought a f550+Fc+gps for 645$+ free ship
I didnt had any customs on these so the price is 36760/-
Now i think If someone need to pay the customs, Still it will come about 6-8K
The price will be under 43,000/-

I dont think they are similar to your price  :)

My friend got a phantom from dslrpro and he had to pay below 38k including everything. Spherehobbies' price may be justified on the grounds that its easier to get it from them and the fact they can supply the battery too (No batteries can be shipped from USA).
But phantom is the way to go if you have cash to burn. Nothing gets you into the air faster. But mind you that it is a very basic model, performance wise.

You cannot get any RTF OUTDOOR quad for 15k. Even if you get one, it would have crap motors and such. And half the fun is in the build anyways :D There are many quad fanatics in this forum and we surely can help you every step of the way if you decide to assemble one :)

Thanks lastrites,
Ya I enjoy building too. I m into rccars. Traxxas , TT etc
I just wantto try a basic decent quality quad. If a enjy it then I will definitely go for a hi end custom built setup. So what do u suggest for rtf outdoorsetup. I can stretch mybudget if itis worth it.

@ arun.sreelakam

Could you please send the link from where did you buy this? This would benefit the community as we would be able to offer same price. The condition is that it cannot be ebay link.

@ sphere hobbies: sir  actually I bought this through ebay itself.. but they have a website also flying-hobby.com
They offered the combo for 645+ free ship 3 weeks before..
And when I am checking it right now their price increased to 745$.
Still if you need some proof I have my purchase history screen shots...
I am not comparing these with your store actually.. but I was sharing my experiance to the fellow friends/members of rcindia....
I even contacted you once before buying it outside... then after seeing this offer I decided to go for this by calculating an additional customs charges.. luckily I was not charged any...

If you've never flown a quadcopter, you have to learn orientation (not easy) or else it's an easy way to crash and lose your huge investment.  This Phantom thing sounds like it was designed for GoPro use so if that isn't your priority I recommend something more basic.

Hobbysea.com can build you a basic outdoor quadcopter for less than half of this very fancy model.

You can have an RTF outdoor quad for Rs 6000 if you really search around.

I agree. Get a microquad to get started with.

Friends,

Here is the clarification for the orientation of DJI NAZA, GPS equipped quads/hexas/octas.

You really do not need to learn flying with orientation as with smart IOC function, orientation importance is minimized. If you get disoriented, do not worry, take your HANDS OFF the radio, flip the IOC switch to "home lock" position and simply pull your elevator control stick towards yourself. Now, relax, craft is coming home. If you are still in panic, turn off your radio transmitter, your craft would come home and land. The DJI Phantom is equipped with NAZA GPS controller. Your flying skill requirement would be as simple as understanding where to fly and when to fly. You really DO NOT need flying skills.

Those days of learning the helis/multi-rotors without smart controller are past with DJI smart controller.  Those who have not flown DJI, please visit us. We shall offer free orientation program. Matter of fact, flying DJI is just like reading DO and DONT.

Still confuse, trust us. Fly with us once. Every penny spent on DJI product is worth.

In my opinion the phantom's landing gears are not that stable. As a beginner, one should launch from soft ground (grass preferably), so when one crashes, the damage is minimized. Even perfectly mowed lawns make the phantom tip over if not careful.
The greatest benefit with a micro quad is its weight. You may crash all day long with minimal damage as it weighs next to nothing.

well lets conclude this?

For a complete newbie microquad.
Then when he learns a better quad like 450 or Phantom (39.5k) :O ...
