Please don't bump your topic (around) 6 hours after it has been posted. If it falls off the board, you can bump it but only once per day. Watching the same thread show up over and over in a few hours becomes annoying quickly.

You can search for a TT s50 sledge hammer for offroad use. Smiley
Are you looking for a buggy or MT?
MT's are better for offroad fun off the track an buggys are better on track.
Also Please understand that you may not be able to run a nitro truck near your house if neighbours complain about the engine noise. Sheshank faced such problems. You can read his thread on his Revo and get an opinion for yourself.
What choices do you have now ?

hmmm...

I am mostly going in for a MT. or a Truggy(i dont see any for sale here)
yes i know its nuisance in a residential area  Grin i will be running in empty plots or grounds...so no problem for me..and yes i went through his thread..
so i have the following cars to think about ...please give me your opinions:

TT Sledge Hammer S50
HPI Savage 4.6 x 2
TT eb4 s2
TT Tomahawk bx without Remote
HSP tyronnosorus (not in my mind)

out of the above which spares are easily available?
of which brand the spares are more expensive?
help me out guys.
thanks

thunder tiger is a decent brand . u can go for it , makes good beginners vehicles and has parts support, and whatever people say dont buy HSP(almost like toys) stuffs unless u have tight budget .

Spares availability :
TT is easiest, HPI is next and HSP is non existant.

Cost of spares:
TT is cheapest, HPI is next and no comment on HSP.

If i were looking for an off-road truck, my preference would be in the same order as the list you have posted assuming that all are in good condition.
TT Sledge Hammer S50
HPI Savage 4.6 x 2
TT eb4 s2
TT Tomahawk bx without Remote
HSP tyronnosorus (would not buy)

Im not going for hsp...

thanks...so i would be most probably go for the sledge hammer or else the savage.
but engine power wise the sledge hammer is almost double i guess, right?

sledge hammer is a decent truck. but savage is much better . and also savage is more powerful / in rc cars any engine bigger than 4.6cc is useless, as the big engines dont hit higher rpms. so sledgehammer has no power advantage (i owned one and sold it). savage is a better truck overall for bashing and for racing . both trucks will break parts but tt s50 will break more. better choice is to buy the 4.6cc mta4 if u want thunder tiger only . there is a reason why so many are selling off their sedgehammers. and also if i can make a suggestion if u want thunder tiger get the st1. one of the toughest cars tt ever made. overall in general monsters are a pain to maintain.

Thanks for ur advice  bro...so u suggest the savage over the seldge hammer...i understand what u mean to say...and im open to all options and cars...so u can surely give me a suggestion..
U mean monsters are sifficult to  maintain since we keep breaking parts?

monsters are difficult becuz of many reasons , the layout is tough and complicated to work on, the parts are expensive, harder to drive, break more and faster parts due to their heavy weights, consume more fuel, slower compared to others like buggy truggy, expensive, not much tire options, etc etc . they are not raced anywhere accept india, the thunder tiger st1 is a very good basher and it can be raced too since its a truggy. and ul have lots of options to modify later compared to monsters. buy a new one if your buying first rc, or if buying used the rc world is a shrewd place where u cant be sure of your luck.

Thanks modelart only has a few models..and my budget is stuck between 15-20k, they have tomahawk ST. can i go for that? its around 16.5 for that. plus oil, spares, fuel etc will go to some 20k!
how is the speed of the car and how is it against bashing?i guess its 3cc.

thanks. i could never get some help over here. its very difficult for a beginner to choose between sooo many cars and buy,
since u now know what my budget is...u can help me out with a car..i want cars which spares are available easily and even the car is available in india.

thanks alot.

tomahawk truggy is a nice car and simple to work on . thats perfect for your budget too . there are more options available too. there is  traxxas slash4x4 at dogboneracing for 25k which is electric, and for nitro other options are hongnor ultra lx2 at joyrisinghobby for 25k.
let the other guys who have experience with the tomahawk chime in

Mugen Seiki Rules

You can moderately bash the Tomahawk ST in stock condition. Dont try it on the Buggy version. If your budget is fixed, go for the ST, else you have better options. I would say, push a little further and get a 1/8 buggy. The EB4 S3 is a decent buggy for the price. Not sure if the car is still sold. Also the ST-1 is not sold. I had one and it was tough.

The HN LX2 is also a good buggy for the price and is used by lots of college students. It does stand a lot of abuse. But you have to upgrade the steering servo almost out of the box. JRH has lots of spares to support the car as its a volume seller.

Yes it is..very much fits in the truggy..i think it takes a level of good bashing too. anyway i wont be doing many jumps or stunts on the car, its just for bashing around on a plane dirty track..for slash my budget contraints come in a way...and im not going in for electric at all.

as i told....im just buying this car to bash around on a plane road..without much jumps and stunts etc. there is EB4 S2 for sale with a AM radio still. its around 14k. do u think i can go for it or what? ST 1 is not sold where? yours?

also i have savage 4.6 (2nd second hand ,from this forum, there are sellers) who are willing to giving me at my fixed budget Cheesy and these cars are in pretty good condition. there is even sledge hammer. but u guys prefer me to buy a new one. so im re thinking all over again.

iill go through JRH now.

give your opinions on what you would do if u were in my position.

again, thanks a ton.

I would not suggest the S2. But its better than a 1/10 scale. My ST-1 has been sold. I dont think anyone has stock of new ones in India.

If the Savage condition is good. I think thats a good choice. I would prefer it over a MTA4.

as for the savage...they are like an year or less or old and by the looks everything seems perfect!
