Please bring the Arducopter boards and components. Every LHS in India places the KK board and Naza boards above the APM platform. I believe APM is far superior in the game(was there when the project was an arduino shield :D) and offers much more flexibility for modders and programmers. Hell, it even lets you fly a quadcopter using Python!

People buy the KK boards because they are cheap. CC3D FC and Crius AIOP runs the very same APM software (clones) that offer a hell lot of features. You can use your APM for boats, cars and planes => perfect for an enthusiast. I know the profit margin is low and that the versions out there are mostly clones but it is worth every penny. APM is an open source platform and you won't see any ads or promotions for them. The sellers might not get any deals with the company directly with regards to marketing benefits and bulk imports(note that I'm no business guy). Trust me when I say this, anyone who knows what they are doing with multirotors will have an APM quad (or will want to own one). I can go on and on but this is all I need from outside India at a reasonable price(might also be because I'm building one).

@sadu: most of the people starting out in the hobby aren't exposed to programming and its other aspects so they tend to go for kk2xx boards as no programming and easy to setup(no hassles of a PC) yes APM has lots of awesome features :thumbsup:

You may be knowing that FAA approval is one time whereas ETA to be obtained by each importer on their name to get Import license for TX/RX.
This way they can get lot of grease.
To be frank 50K was asked by an agency and one person of that agency is working in the organization which provides the approval. :banghead:

True, but dont you think that if that model is approved by WPC themselves then ETA should not be required for the same model.

If model is not approved by WPC then ETA is required.

My point is the stupid system that our government agencies are following. Even NOC for 2.4Ghz systems, even if that freq is free to use frequency  still customs as for WPC NOC.

Thats really sad for us!! How do we get Tx then???  :headscratch:

Yes, satyaji. It should be one time and should be public like FAA approvals.
The FAA regulations are more stringent than our WPC requirements and simply they could accept FAA certification.
But they don't because similar approvals are required for all WIFI equipments / mobile phones with wifi etc. and lot of grease.

Once WPC has granted ETA for an equipment there is no need to get separate ETA by a different entity/person as long as the equipment specs are same. ETA is available in WPC list and you can seek the same under RTI should you wish to.
