Guys,
Was surprised to read a big news on ET .
Bhopal Hobby shop sees an order from IAF for supply of UAV.
86CC gas airplanes... See attached.
Searched for their site, came across this : http://www.epromotion.biz/
hi there ,
they haven't got order yet and basically they are not supplying UAV's but instead they are making a 86cc 1/2 scale heron UAV model which is with IAF and these models will be used to train crew for T/O and Landing and for emergency conditions instead of live UAV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ;) ;) ;)
happy landings
anyways i think they should be added to the mega list of all rc dealers
and from the eligible text of the paper it is clear that they will be supplying 86cc uavs[given in the news paper and the cost is 8lakh-mentioned]
Their website (as noted above) is clearly a work in progress. It may be too early to be added to the mega list of hobby shops.
Quoteinstead of live UAV!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Pravven
Would you explain what a "live UAV" is?
hi sushil,
even though its confidential i will clear :basically IAF has heron UAV which cannot takeoff and land by itself (although it has some advanced avionics) so some safety pilot should land manually and these UAV's are not RC planes ,they will cost in hundreds of crores, please have a look at it
http://theasiandefence.blogspot.com/2009/08/india-has-approved-induction-of.html
and if crash one "crores into ashes" thats why they will train there crews with dummy rc model of 86cc engine powred plane which is 1/2 scale replica of heron!
Regards
Praveen
I am aware of the UAVs that the forces have. I have, very recently, actually seen the smaller ones with Zenoah twin engines with Israeli electronics. Don't ask when and where!
But I still cannot understand what a "live UAV" is ! 8-)
If I read you correctly, what you actually mean is that the 1/2 scale models are used for training pilots to - ultimately - fly the bigger, expensive, UAVs.
Exactly!
