To all my friends "HAPPY LANDINGS"....

Hi Guys,
Mark is also building two "ALL TERRAIN"  " SKIM-LANDER " planes in EPP that have been inspired from below RC groups ....One for me and one for Allan... I have requested him to upload some comments and images on the build and he has promised to do so once his PC is upgraded as its very slow and taking ages at present...

He will upload all the text on the images I took and are being uploaded when he came around yesterday of the one he had half built for another friend who flies off water...

Apparently this EPP foam or Depron foam can be painted with a water soluble enamel which is freely available in all paint shops so I have asked him to do mine in Red and white Air Asia theme...

Will upload some images when he has made.

In the mean time, enjoy the video of;

"POSSIBLY WORLDS BEST TRAINER"

http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1751151&highlight=joel+k+scholz

Mark is quite active on most RCBlogs.

Anybody wants to buy a cut out RAW KIT or get plans, please get in touch with him...
His plane is bigger and made of EPP the indestructible foam.

Allan is holding it to get an idea on the size

Apparently it can take off from water, tarmac, grass or snow and if it hits any obstacles or trees, it will either still keep flying or fall off.....take off again...nice!!

Good one for beginners. See video where it hits the tree falls straight to the ground, and just lifts off from grass again.....  Roll Eyes

Thanks
Deepak

L'enfant Terrible du RCIndia

Something like this (copied from the original designer???) has been around for some time. I have the Depron plans of it too. RCB sold a similar kit a year ago, before they ran out of stock.

This one was uploaded on April 2006. (As mentioned on the video posted by b4ggu - it may have been copied from the original design that was created in 2004).

VK (V.K.Singh) had created a laser cut Depron kit for me in 2011 from the plans, it was destroyed by an over zealous, wannabe modeller in whom I had reposed my faith.

This is one model that I definitely want to rebuild.

Wow VC that is really nice...what a pity about the plans..Mark would have loved to make one too..
This is a super bit of kit.... Is it a hovercraft?...Is it a boat...?? Is it a plane?? Is it there now or gone? Now you see now you don't.....
Excellent design who ever created it..

The idea was I wanted a water plane float plane, water flyer with a chevron wing shape, body like a holiday jet always have liked the shape of the jumbo jet, some have of it and use -twin booms fuselage, electric pusher 30 - 40" span  power 200 - 300 watts.

Made from epp foam, 6mm square wood in it for support, and make patterns to be able to make more than one, the whole design process and tooling up and making will be shown.

We like to have fun when flying so I wanted a model to be able to fly off land and water and because the odd mishap happens every now and then and sometimes your propeller can break with this design its out of the way, so when making contact with the ground hopefully the prop wont break.

See the video link here showing the fun we like to have when flying with epp foam.

This some of the models I have designed and made in the past and with my friends we fly them off some of the hills near Leicester England UK (12 miles - 18km from city centre)

Wing shape sections (formers) made from 9 mm birch ply sanded and polished on the edge holes drilled in so can pin and I also temporary glue on the edge so they don't move when cutting.

To the cutting table, set up a radial cut so hot wire starts square / parallel exits parallel so the wing foam has to be put on the table in just the right place at the correct angel.

The wing needs support and going to use 6 mm square wood and want to make more than one plane so made a cardboard pattern to be able to cut a slot for the wood spar at constance position -repeatable, so the pattern as a old steel ruler against the hole on it to one side and the out shape is pinned against the wing.

Very nice ..... i can see my thoughts in practice ...... I have a 3 volt DC motor with a blade on shaft it makes a clear groove in thermacol. else I use the Bow to have a slot across the wing.

Your groove tool is better as your requirement was not till the wing tips.

Need that black foam sheets.....!!!! they look strong enough and no need to put tape or paper....
shipping is going to be high can you find out how much it will be ... if you can ?

Sounds like a good tool Rastsaurabh - your slot cutter.

Has regards the foam I will find out how much it would cost - I know it will alot.

To help is there any car parts warehouse's or car factories near to where you live? The reason I ask this foam is black epp and was got from these kind of places, its used to contain and transport vehicle or motorcar glass so it does break before its fitted into the cars.
