"Arguably one of the best sport planes ever designed, it will take anything you can throw at it.

Midwest made 3 sizes of the Hots and others have taken the design to produce giant scale sizes.

Sadly Midwest does not produce this plane any longer, they are still floating around for sale every so often.

I like mine as a sport plane to buzz around and enjoy the handling of a well build, well designed sport plane.

Flies like a dream and looks good in the air.
Ask an old timer if he remembers them."

Wow that looks nice! Any flying video? :D

So what's so great about a model kitted in the 70's?

sanjayrai55

The obvious challenges in converting to Corro/Electric - all the angles, and managing an AUW to suit the motor I have (maximum 450W or 25 Nitro size approx.)

sanjayrai55

I also have to fatally crash some models to make space for it  >:D

#5
And then there is the "Hot Hots!"

sanjayrai55

This is a 3D capable Hots.

I'm going to give it a shot  ;D ;D

IfI can get the wing OK, I'll try the fuse too  ;) ;)

sanjayrai55

I'm no 3D flyer - can barely land and take-off; but Hey! Maybe I'll learn  :giggle: :giggle:

Barn door or warehouse door? 5 " ailerons  :o

That size of aileron in 4 mm corrowill flutter like a leaf in a gale! So put a 2 mm balsa sheet

Structural issues. This was a bad choice for a Corro conversion  8-)

Sanjay sir

try CL with this model, flies well, esp inverted square loop etc, it was one of the advanced CL model, when you graduated from super clown, super hot was the way to go

sanjayrai55

Gusty saheb, I have searched, but could not locate the Super Hot CL model. I do think it is different, the Hots was conceived directly as an RC Model in the late 70s
