Got my 5889 Heli today. Quite happy with it. Finishing is rather good, with proper 4 channel 2.4GHz control. Impressive!

I needed something like this to get me ready for my HK 450. I've charged her battery and we plan to maiden her outdoors (provided the weather remains calm and still) tomorrow. I didn't have the guts to fly her indoors today for the risk of damages.

it was the same metal finish and single blade..... costed about 1200-1500

Was it 2.4ghz 4 ch, I doubt it, I think it would be the 3 or 3.5ch one.

it was a 4 ch .... but dont remember  if it was 2.4Ghz.... and it cost less than what i have stated above

Yes, sure. I have it planned out, will shoot it and post by the end of this week. This heli is supercool, I'm loving it, I fly it indoors in my drawing room, with the radio in the 'high' mode. With the stock battery, I get a flight time of about 6-6.5mins continuous hovering, then I allow it to cool down, charge, again cool and then fly once more, and have been doing this 3 times a day for the past week, after I installed the training gear. As I have said earlier, I have found a sweet spot. The controls are very nice(proper 4 ch), very good for the price. Well, I was planning to get a coaxial, I'm glad that I didn't get one.

If it ain't broke - don't fix it!  :P

Somehow I forgot this maxim and fooled around with my 5889. Actually, something was broken, but not in the Heli. One of the spring hooks in the flimsy Tx had broken from inside rendering the right hand horizontal movement ineffective (no spring = no auto centering). Thus, I had tried and succeeded in binding it with my HK 4 Ch Tx. The heli behaved most erratically and I just didn't have the courage to fly it after that. Now after a month, the TX has been repaired by Great Guns and I can't seem to bind it with the Rx in the heli!

What do I do now? :headscratch:

Could you please let us know how did you manage to bind it with the HK 4 channel Tx in the first place?

Also was the spring broken ever since out of the box?? ???

Binding was easy. Power on the HK 4 Ch set with the bind switch on (First press the switch and keep it pressed on and then power on the TX). Connect the heli battery terminals to the RX and it binds automatically.

As I had informed you earlier, the Tx did arrive in a bruised / broken condition. I've been fixing this and that from Day One. This is probably the only set that was supplied to you in a used / broken condition or was roughed up so badly in transit by the couriers. Not to worry, I had it all fixed when all of a sudden the spring gave way and I was lucky to survive a crash (thanks to the wild grass in my backyard!).

Amit, I'm not complaining about breakages here, I'm just worried about the unbinding / rebinding. It is a lovely model and I have no regrets buying it from you.

Ok as for the binding issue.

Here is what you need to do this time connect the Terminals to the RX battery first and then power on the Tx and it should automatically bind with the TX (Unplug the main motor first to avoid any mishap and make sure that the Throttle on the Tx is all the way down.)

found the solution:

To bind the Transmitter with Heli GT 5889

1. Pull down the 2 sticks of the transmitter to the bottom right corner. Then turn on the power switch of the transmitter, now the indicator light of the transmitter should twinkle

2. Then turn on the power switch of the aircraft, the LED lights will twinkle.

3. The binding is successfull when the LED lights change from twinkling to steady and when you hear the swash setting it self to the base position

4. Now switch off the Transmitter then turn it back on  and you should be good to go.

Note:

If binding fails the first time just remove battery from Heli then switch off Transmitter and then turn back Tx First and then Power up heli it should automatically again go in bind search mode and should bind this time.

Went and picked up my GT 5889 from Hellyflyer on the 12th. Thought it might be a good step up for me from my tiny NE Solo Pro V before I tackle a 6 ch. Had a hard time finding his place in Vikaspuri but once there, it was a pleasure to meet him and talk to him. We spent almost and hour chatting about things and he really came across as a very forthright young man. I have been laid up with the viral since and haven't been able to take the 5889 out as yet but I am sure if I have any problems I can count on Hellyflyer to help me sort them out.

Finally managed to try out the GT 5889. It proved to be very easy to fly even for a complete beginner like me. Got about 6 mins of indoor hover time on a fully charged lipo. Definitely need to have two more  charged lipos ready. have ordered them. The heli vibrates quite a bit when spooling  up (was a little worried) but smoothes out at higher rpm. Maybe because of the extremely loose rotor blades (rotor lag????). Needed some trimming to start with. Seems like a great step up from my tiny NE Solo ProV. Should prove a good economical substitute to the Walkera 4#6.

Sir, please post a video if possible. I think the lipo's performance will increase after a few cycles because I get about 8 mins of flight time with the stock lipo which I think is the maximum continuous flight that I can achieve with the heli, it gets really hot at the end so I don't want to stretch it and fry the electronics.

I received the heli yesterday  ;D, had to face a bit of trouble during transition,but it seemed very little with Hellyflyer (Amit) on my side  :). His support was 100% all the way.Inspite of the thing being packed very well as there were no physical damage,I found the throttle stick of the transmitter wasn't responsive, but when i opened it I found there was a loose contact between the pot and the board. I then immediately resoldered the links and then it was good as new  ;D. It was possibly caused by the surface transition as the heli was rejected from the airport. To conclude the heli is very impressive.

No, I do not carry spares for this Heli but spares are available online, also this heli comes with a spare set of main blades

I have recieved my heli yesterday. very nice FP heli to start with. tried to do some hovering but seems a little difficult as amit told me dont try it indoor in starting as it may crsh to the walls & other objects & it needs an open space. will post the pics & video very soon.

I want extra battery for this heli. stock battery is 7.4V 850 mah. can I go for 7.4v with 1000mah or more ampearage battery.

Yes you can use a 7.4v 1000 mah 2 cell battery if you can manage the same diamensions with it.
