Hello VC ... Pm'ed you.

Santosh its not a secret with all the videos on utube. I use the same process as shown here.... (except that his setup is on table mine is on floor)

Will take video of my cutting next time.

Hello RC friends,

None of the buyers have come forward with their finished wings..... i happen to invest 2 days and finished my wing.....

Have a look and get inspiration to complete yours......

rastsaurabh

I used Black Spray paint ..... no matter how careful you are the spray eats the foam......

use with xtra xtraa care!!!

Hello Nitin,

I have used the triangle one as the motor mount as shown in the thread
http://www.rcindia.org/tools-materials-and-building-techniques/how-to-mount-electric-motors-on-foamies/msg116783/#msg116783

for the motor thrust angle it should be up thrust by 2-3 degrees or 0 degree ( at the same plane as of wing) but never down thrust.
A good video explains  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0QGp6DpD9og

I have built lot of wing cores using these pivot method, all tend to have same characteristics of doing a TIP STALL during turns and finally ending up in a Spiral. Here, only the airfoil at the Root chord can be controlled, and airfoil at the wing tip comes automatically. This method allows you to cut the wing core singlehandedly but with one drawback, unlike the bow method which needs two persons to get a good finished wing.
With the bow method you can control the airfoil at both root chord and the tip by cutting out different templates and inducing Washout at the wing tips.
Until recently I was not able to manage them fly properly till I had some WASHOUT and air fences added into them.
Give extra precautions while cutting out the wing tip.
Tip stall is where your wing tip stalls first and then your root. With the tapering of cord done due to this method, effective angle of attack near the wingtips will be more than that of root and would stall first. The stall will be progressive starting first at the wing tip, and ending at the root.
This makes one side of wing drop abruptly during slow turns, and if there are no air fences, airflow over the top of airfoil disrupted and aggravates the situation and ends up in a spiral.

Most of the ppl using the piovt method incorporate following to reduce tip stall. I personally have seen tip stalling have reduced but havent vanished though using these method.
1. Wash out ( Twist at the wingtips )
2. Wing fences
3. Tapered ailerons.

A very good initiative indeed, keep it up Saurabh.

I agree to you but if you maintain the wire temperature and speed of hand movement  you can get real good aerofoil at the tip as well.......... but if you sand the tips to very thin and end them as winglets the results are good.

Use a spring at pivot end to absorb inconsistency of hand movement....

Hello Friends,

Another set of wings hot wired for wings. This time with a center fuse as CG becomes an issue with length of wing chord. so extended to have least problems and battery is secure.
copy of HobbyKing Darkwing.

slow progress started long back so cannot be a part of 6th Sweeps.

WS - 45"

Motor mount solutions....
Any cap from deo or shampoo bottle. This is going to be DIY use sandpaper before sticking with EPOXY/ Fevicole
Laser cut mount proper solution - This specifically cut motor mounts for Wings made of 2mm ply

Praveen & Manoj

As usual give me 7-8 days to make fuse template and new template for the wing.... with the improvements i identified.

1. Increase Wing chord
2. Presently trailing edge is 3mm which makes it a bit fragile.... plan to have it atleast 5mm.
3. Design a fuse ( something similar to Ritewing) so that its easy to make

Let me cut and showcase here then you deposit money.
