On the duals occasions of the "launching of RC Bazaar" and "second birthday of RC India", RC Bazaar has extended its support to this forum again in the form of another sweepstakes
The prices is :Rs: 5000 worth of store credit at http://www.rcbazaar.com . The draw will be held 45 days after the store opens.
In order to make the best positive and long term use of this sweepstakes, it has been decided that only people who contribute at least a couple of sentences to the RC India Wiki (http://www.rcindia.org/wiki/) will be eligible. We want to really grow the Wiki, and use it as a tool to create at least an FAQ list for beginners. We want to have direct answers to questions about ordering from HobbyKing, customs issues, best beginner models etc in the Wiki.
I have already started the first page with same sample questions. Feel free to break the questions down further, answer the existing questions, add your own questions and answers etc. Basically, we want to be able to point beginners to a Wiki page for most of the common questions asked by beginners. Note that there are some questions where linking back to forum threads may be the right answer.
Thank you RCBazaar for your support, and good luck everyone  I hope everyone takes a bit of time out to help with the Wiki effort.

Did my bit ;D
Even did some writing pertaining to aircraft.
done..
I think there there is should be proper format for articles in wiki.
People who want to contribute to wiki should go through http://www.rcindia.org/rc-india-forum/rc-india-wiki/ (http://www.rcindia.org/rc-india-forum/rc-india-wiki/)
Done :)
:salute:
Did my bit..>>> Which is the best Brand with RTR factor in mind
Well did my bit...
Appreciate all the people who participated in this so far {:)} It is great to see the Wiki coming to life finally.
BTW, please feel free to edit existing articles, especially on anything a beginner will ask. And of course, add new FAQ items, or anything that people might be searching for.
added the link for Understanding Electric Power Systems for RC Planes linking back to RcIndia.
Ankur, thanks !
But I moved your post into a question, with the details inside the link. The first page should really have links, and no detailed articles... it looks weird otherwise :)

Just to clarify... some of the threads in the "Gems" list have gotten too big. I am hoping that the Wiki would produce concise yet effective summaries of such threads.
For example, it should be fairly simple to know what is involved in importing. Will there be duty... if there is, how much will it be ? What is the procedure if your item is detained in customs... etc etc. Basically a lot of "to the point" questions and responses.
solved i answer for which i was sure.
Reminding everyone about this once more :)
Please do add more questions, or answer existing ones like this :

Hi,
Just added 'Beginners Dictionary - RC Terminology' to the wiki.
The post is a copy from the original post http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/showthread.php?t=441528
I have just arranged them properly and posted in our Wiki.
The above post helped me a lot understanding the RC Hobby terminology, it may help other beginners like me.
Hope this small contribution makes me eligible for the Sweepstakes.. :)
Added my bit How to find the thrust of a proppleer and motor easily
Anwar was it the wrong way to answer that question or was it the wrong answer :headscratch:
I see only the question, with no answer added. If you add the question by editing the main page, you have to click on the question and add answers in the new page that opens up.
If you attempted to answer it already, may be you forgot to click the Save button ? :headscratch:

I am disappointed at how some people are adding questions, without giving it much thought. There is already a big page on RC terminology, but someone just added one more question about it. Remember that we don't care about adding NEW questions, we care about adding USEFUL information (even if it is adding couple of lines to an existing answer).
Requesting the person who added the last two questions to make appropriate changes.

Does the formating, Gaps are OK or I have to make more clear looking?
Pls check
http://www.rcindia.org/wiki/What_is_the_best_prop_suitable_for_my_motor_/_Plane_%3F
would certainly write more... require a lil bit of time to iron out geeky words
I added some more information under:
What are things to be kept in mind building plane with biofoam ?
and
What kind of radio should I buy?
Added a page on "NiCd - Memory Effect"
Added another page on preflight tests.
Wiki is a good platform to put into writing some concepts which never change, but are crucial.
Waiting for the draw...
Added up the Boat page
Hey is this still going on? I thought the draw had been won by someone.
By the way........... What was the prize again?????????????? :giggle: :giggle:
Even I thought, may be I missed the draw.. but no update on this thread.. so hopes are on..
I am responsible for the draw not happening :(
I have been tied up with multiple things, even though Sujju bhai (RCBazaar) requested me to do the draw a few days earlier. I will try to get this done at the earliest.
Could you post a list of eligible candidates
oh... i thought the draw was already made. I added because i was glad to find a wiki-like section where direct info could be found. Sometimes it gets tricky to find and read the threads for a specific info, so i made a few pages for those who are just starting off and would need help.
Chalo good to know the draw is on. :)
This is very interesting initiative.
I have added two pages in the Boats section
Different types of Hulls
Different types of Drive Trains.
Would be Good if other Boat lovers add up to this.
Added up a page "Understanding Lipo batteries" did changes to few pages including the formatting, Wrote on Best Prop for motor/plane, best beginner radio, and contributed to existing pages.... Hopes on :) :)
Now it looks like the hopes are really on... :) :)
OK.. since people have started contributing again, the draw will be done this Sunday. Hopefully more people can pitch in by then.
Did the draw take place?? who won?? :)
