Hi all,
I just ordered the new 120cc slick from RCdhamaka  Grin Grin

I had my eye on this plane for a while now, so quite excited that it will be here in a couple of days! Planning to do a mini review/assembly thread. From what I have read and seen on the web this should be an awesome airframe - nice and floaty and a 3d monster!

SPECIFICATIONS:
Scale:37%
Wing Span: 109" 2770mm
Length: Including spinner 102 inches (2590mm)
Wing Area: 2108 sq. in.(136sq.dm.)
Flying Weight: 26.5 to 28 lbs (12-12.7kg)
Spinner: 4” (102mm)
Engine: 100cc - 120cc Gas
Radio: 4+ Channels
Servos: 8 to 9 servos required 180 oz to 330 oz (11-20kg / cm) - JR8911

Plan to outfit it with my trusty DLE 111 for now and maybe upgrade to the 120 later. Also going to be using Hitec 7954s (Ail) and 7955s (Ele) as well as 7950 (rud)

Stay tuned for assembly pics

Since you are going to use digital high torque servos I would advice you to use good quality receiver battery and a powerbox for sure. Also if you are going to use your Futaba 7 channel radio then make sure you have a power box with servo match because you would be having multiple servos on your ailerons

hi Jamal, Thanks. Yes I plan to use a smartfly power expander and two 2300 mah Lifepo4  batts. This was the set up on my 100cc Aeroworks extra 260 and 100cc toc yak and it worked flawlessly. I am also going to use a fromenco wolverine switch with built in batt share. I have a futaba 14sg radio and 14 channel receiver which I think I will inaugurate for this plane. (But I will still use the power expander for clean 5v power to rx and all its other benefits.)

Cool. Appreciate it man. I have to figure out how to transport it to the field - even with a detachable rudder, I might have to strap it to the roof of my swift for now. Time to design a roof airplane cradle.

well along with the much awaited rain, some much awaited, humongous boxes showed up at my doorstep. Grin I was a bit worried when I saw the holes punched through them -and at one place FEDEX had very kindly put a patch repair over the holes they made! Bow Bang Head But after opening up the fuse box, to my great relief there was no damage.
I have to say the packaging is very heavy duty with double walled cardboard and lots of foam - saved my plane for sure.

IMHO Ailerons deserve a little better than 7954s..

Hi Shadman, wish I had better servos - for now these will have to do. But I have to say the 7954 have served me very well on my other 100cc airframes (like the toc yak in my avatar). Although they are hardened steel gears, not titanium, after over a year of hard flying there is absolutely no gear slop. The control surfaces on this thing are huge but I am hoping a combined 800 oz in of torque on each aileron should b enough. Well I guess I'll find out soon enough.

ok first impressions: This is a high quality arf! Everything is CF, including the control horns, and a very nice CF spinner comes in the box. The control surfaces are pre-hinged, and the tank is plumbed and installed with every line clearly marked. I will only add a piece of foam under the tank to absorb vibration. The build quality is very nice and the use of liberal amounts of epoxy is visible in all critical, high stress joints. I will still go over some of joints with thin ca.

The first thing I like to do is to get the plane on its gear. This prevents any possibility of damage, scratches etc to the underside of the fuse. All the holes lined up perfectly - hardly took half an hour to install the main an tail gear - I used blue thread lock throughout.     The chair in the pic gives some idea of the size of this thing.

Got a little bit done this morning. Glued in the control horns in the elevators. The ball link keeps everything aligned nicely. Also installed the elevator servos. I changed my mind here and went with the power hd 8325 TG, HV servos - these are awesome servos -super smooth -but very underrated - at 31 kg torque they are more powerful than the hitec 7955 servos.
1st Pic shows the control horns being roughened before install.
