How did you arrive at that estimate? If you post the components you are looking at, we can suggest cheaper alternatives, or even if some of them are unnecessary.

Do you really need a metal gear servo?

Also, don't look at the battery, charger, and Tx / Rx as "costs" of the tricopter, because you can use them on other helis or planes as well.

Even so, from this list your total is 8500 including the above mentioned components.

Hobbyking tip: Stay on one prodct page for a long time, it'll come up with a popup which offers a discount. It isn't much, usually 2-5 usd, but it adds up.

Another tip: ship using airmail and in small batches. Its cheaper that way, and less customs problems

Emax 2822 weigh less... aerodrive 1200kv weighs 20gm more but powerfull than 2822 in my view..
