Unless you put lights or scale articles like retracts (or cameras etc), 7 channel is the most any heli would need (including engine governor) :)

Looking at kit for my raptor 90,one gyro and my 7C has no Channel to spare, how do i use the retracts ???, will post picture for guidance. 14 MZ Second hand sounded a good choice

How many channels do you need extra for this ?  Normally the original Raptor (swash type H-1 in Futaba land) would only need 5 channels, including remote gyro gain.  So you will have 2 extra channels on a 7 channel radio.

Y cable on pretty much any channel ? I am not sure exactly which device you are calling the "voltage spy", but if it just needs to read the voltage from 2 of the 3 pins, a Y cable should work.  Using the Y cable also frees up one channel's pins, if it is used exclusively to feed in receiver power.

Added Futaba 14 MZ Tx with 14 Channel 6014 Rx to my Hangar (http://www.futaba-rc.com/systems/futk9400.html) , had to save up for some months to get one. will take some time to integrate into my models.

hey!
congrats!

but ithink you went a bit early for it

White bird is a Scratch Built I cannot believe my eyes.  :o  :o  :o

When are you Opening our own next door Local Tower Hobbies for sale.  ;)  :P

:goodjob: Great Job

rcpilotacro

if you watch closely you will see a lot of flaws in the white bird, canopy was not cleanly cut (Half asleep), canopy was fixed, stuck, realised pilot is still outside (Decided to keep him out for a while, went to gr8 length to get a WW II pilot from RCD). Nose job is not very clean, wanted a profile tailplane, settled for flat, i feel fin area is small, so much for white beauty

Oh no Sir I can see no flaws only smooth curves, fine airfoil, straight lines, shining surface and absolute symmetry in the build. To achieve such finer finish in balsa build (with the visible ribs in the wing airfoil under oracover I presume it is balsa) is nothing but good building skill, patience, In short I can only say commendable.  :salute:

There are a lot of thieves in the Northeast who speacialise in stealing aeromodels. Some thieves are based in Guwahati and regularly travel to Shillong to steal models from unsuspecting officers............... >:D

Awesome hangar (If I didn't mention that before) and the White Bird is

Gave away, Katana 3D to my son, his first Nitro 3D (Is he ready ? i'll know tomorrow, if i end up with a pile of balsa, no , otherwise yes)

Raptor 90 is with OS 90 engine& Futaba GY611 Gyro (You can see the Voltage Spy on its side) and Katana is with ASP 70 4S,

I miss  :( my Katana 46, the same model in your picture. I glued the wings to the body and was the best 3D plane I ever had. I regret giving it away to make space for my First 50 cc Gas. I was using an OS .55 and I still miss the fun I had with it. As the wings were glued together, no assembly at the field was required. ...

if you discount the park flier like the park and the acro master, this is the best 3D no doubt about it, except of course cant fly it when the winds are strong, gr8 hover, superb harrier and inverted harrier

PS
My wings are bolt on, so for long distance display this katana in Nitro & Yak 54 in electrical are the best, takes less space, family don't even get to know there is aeroplane in the boot. i using ASP 70 4S, i love the sound of 4s in a 3d

Here is my Raptor maiden, i am new to helis (About 5-6 hrs of sim time, that's all i have, though flown real helis) that's why nose out, don't giggle at my hover and turn, that's all i can do right now. njoy

at pick up tail is shivering like anything, can't make out whether is it because over correction of gyro or what ? or is it normal ?

Please refer to the below discussion, as "shivering" is quite ambiguous.

http://www.rcindia.org/helis/tail-wag-and-head-speed-trex-500-fbl/

A shiver is different from a wag, and a horizontal axis wag is different from a vertical axis wag.

If you are referring to the couple of wide wags just before take off in that video, then you can try two things :

1.  Increase your gyro gain until the tail starts to wag aggressively with small range of movement (more like shivering), then back down couple of points.

2.  You may have a throttle to pitch curve mismatch.  Essentially, you are trying to take off before there is enough head speed for the tail blades to gain enough speed/authority.  So try either increasing the throttle curve around hover point, or reducing pitch curve, or a combination of both.

for a beginner this may appear Greek and Latin, i am with you fully, yeah that's why so few helis and heli pilots in the field, i think, honestly, it is a a step after your sort of master planes (Fixed wings), the heli. flew the mini titan today, with trnr legs extremely agile and very difficult to fly, gyro adjustments too are very sensitive
