Hi
can i use avionic analog servos with avionic x5?
in your setup video u mentioned that it doesn't support analog
but in RCB store they mentioned can be used but it wont be much responsive.
so i am gonna buy it
i can use analog right
i am beginner.
thanks
hey no it does not support analog servos ...do not connect the analog servos to the gyro or it will get burnt...if u want to use analog servos get the robird g31 from them that supports analog ...but if u going flybarless i suggest u go with digital servos only
does robird support analog servo in rudder ?

as i am a beginner i am thinking about not to spend much
so i am thinking about going with analog servos as of now,
suggest me which one to buy?
X5 or Robird G31?
Does Robird G31 Support analog rudder servo?
yes it does but i suggest u get some digital servos for use specially for tail .u can use analog for cyclic ....
go for the robird g31 u use analog servos on cyclic but for tail u buy high speed digital servos or u will tend to have problems while flying and getting the right setup

i will wait for savox till that i will be using analog rudder
thanks you
i am going with Robird G31
and can u help me out in Robird setup?
yes i will u can check out setup videos from skyhobby on youtube if u get confused bout something after that u can contact me
thank you so much and onething,
which option do i need to select for analog tail rudder in robird
1.5ms@250Hz
1.5ms@333Hz
760us@500Hz
for cyclic it got analog option but for tail i dont know which one to select?
thanks
yes just give me a sec even was checking the same i doubt it uses analog for the tail it only supports it for the cyclic i guess
okay, just check and tell me. i am going to RCB now so please help me out
pretty confused
if i use pulse rate to 50hz in Avionic X5 can i use analog servos
i have no idea just checking
thank you
no the signal for digital and analog is different ...the servos will burn if not digital
okay, what should i do now?
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1306-avionic-16g-digital-servo-av16d.aspx
can i use above for rudder?
and buy Robird g31

for rudder
thank you
u can either do one thing is that purchase digital servos from else where and get the gyro only form rcbazaar ..bot gyros are amazing i have them both but without the right servos u gonna get into a problem ...i am using these servos currently they are MKS Ds 95 clones they sell for 23$ on hobby king and they are super fast and awesome metal gear ones http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24764__TGY_306G_HV_High_Voltage_Ultra_Fast_High_Torque_MG_Digital_Alloy_Cased_Servo_3_7kg_05sec_21g.html works great ..or u can wait for the savox..but get good servos or u will be banging your head with some unusual problems
No sir u cannot use that on your tail the servo is too slow u need something with a speed of 0.08 or lower that is 0.15 ..dont rush into building your heli cause it hurts the pocket bad if u go wrong ....i suggest to buy the servo from hk or wait for savox but use a good tail servo ...take tht from a guy who had been banging his head over issues caused by cheap stuff and not right stuff :giggle: :giggle:

i am buying robird
and i will wait for savox rudder servo
good choice and pls use a different gyro tape the tape that comes with robird is not good dont use it even for trial ..,,get the tarot zyx gyro tape or get 3M tape from the hardware store dont use the tape provided at all
okay i have a roll with me thank you
and onething if i am ordering from HK how will they ship
we need to pay more ?
we need to pay anything while receiving the shipment?
U need to pay product price and shipping if u dont have a account with them let somebody else order for you initially cause of discounts and stuff and ship y registered post ems does not make that much sense
thank you and i will get back to you if a have any problem during setup
thanks
Hi,
i got avionic X5
and i have a doubt in which way the blade grips ball links should face?
same way as flybarred or opposite way
In the opposite way and yes u can use the gyro pad of the X5 it's good...
hi
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/817-450-heli-cnc-flybarless-head-wo-swash-shaft.aspx
is that the way is right to place blade grip?
and can i place the x5 gyro vertically perpendicular to your position that is button facing top and wires facing down?
yes u have to place blade grips in the same way as shown ..rule is when swashplate goes up u need to get positive pitch ...the only way this is possible is buy placing the grips that way ...and no u cannot place it with the wires facing down u have to place it wires facing back either on the top of heli or on the side it has to be level ..if u have seen in the video the gyro is placed on the side n in line with heli it should not be placed tilted or ur gyro will get wrong indication while flying n ull end up crashing ...be very patient while mounting the gyro cause glue is very strong u cant re do it with same tape then
thank you
i am having hiller 450 v3 & RCB 7x(how to setup gyro menu in rcb7x).
problem facing gyro mount
no space to mount
and just to check gyro working i connected the wires (without mountin the gyro)but once i switch on the heli starts beeping non stop?
and what will happen when i first connect the gyro?
thank you

ok there is no setting for gyro on rcb7x there are just few steps to follow ....first make a new model select helicopter then go to swash type select 1 servo normal....input select aux 2 -aux 2 ,gear change to gyro....after doing this in the function list u will get gyro menu rate0 30% rate 1 70% u can adjust this later rest all settings has to be done on gyro
thank you
and i have to start to set up in normal mode right not in stunt mode? right
as initial all your curves are linear yes u can start in normal just disconnect motor and also active throttle cut in the tx and just bring throttle cut curve to its lowest
all setting in gyro from Ato J are regarding servo type and mounting position position and tail setup after that is full head setup ...also as ur using v3 so there is a carbon fiber gyro mounting plate between the frames mount it there with wires facing backward
thank you :)
most welcome
Hi,
gyro wont fit in that gyro mount,
and in the sides its full of screws so confused,
the way u shown in the video and normal mounting position are the only way of mounting it?
thanks :headscratch:
HI try placing it on the bottom plate then but the frame is wide enough y wont it fit on the gyro mounting plate ?????....i use a pro so i can mount on the side or on the top :P
if u see the picture, there is no height to mount, gyro wont go inside,
in the sides lot of screws so i dont know how to fix it
u can mount it below the gyro plate on the bottom plate it is fine
i placed my receiver there, i have to remove it and replace with gyro.
and
i have these doubts
a) what is the linkage rod length in FBL head for 450 sport?
b) before starting to config gyro, all servos should be centered and at midstick with 0 pitch ?(can i use subtrims in tx to adjust the servo to get leveled swash)
thanks
http://www.rcindia.org/helis/swash-plate-levelling-without-swash-levelling-tool/
thanks but i have leveling tool.
i was having FB head so in that servos are directly connected to receiver but here its different so what should i do for
leveling the servos at midstick?
gyro should be perfectly parallel to the heli?
if it is tilted little is there a problem?
yes
hi
how should i connect the wire to X5?
brown on top and yellow on bottom ?
when i connect the x5 . my rudder input nothing changes in x5
thanks
and i tried my analog servos for cyclic and rudder both working fine with avionic x5
Hi,
i have a problem in swash mix
mine is 450 v3
i selected 120
and selected 1 flash, all servos moving in same direction but at full stick there is full negative pitch and vice versa,
i tried other flashes but no getting proper direction. :banghead:
thank you
Without going into gyro programing make sure ur swash is travelling in the right direction left right front back if not then reverse the necessary servo.. After that go into programming and select swash type with appropriate flash
Thank you, I will try it today...

for hiller 450 v3 fbl conversion, do i need to change the servo to swash link lengths & is there any manual for setting up the length of the links?
servo to swash and swash to blade grip?
Yes download the align trex 450 sport manual from Internet
The swash to blade grips linkage length has to be set by yourself by leveling swash at midstick and adjusting length to have 0degrees as blade angle on midstick
thank you,
and when i am moving the cyclic stick the servo movements are very slow?
is that normal ? :headscratch:
Yes cause the gyro is in sport mode so they will not move fast as ur learning Isuggest u ddon't change that in adjustment menu.. Ltr.. If u have read the manual ull know what I am talking about
okay,
i made gyro sense as
normal - 30
stunt 1-70
which one should i use when starting to config gyro?
in your video it was in blue
but i am getting purple status?
Set it to rate1 70 tht is heading hold mode pls of set the tail slider when rudder servo is central as seen in video to get proper setup
thank you for the support,
i will try setting up everything today
:salute:
Hi,
we are configuring gyro in head locking mode and i am not gonna fly in rate mode,
do i need 30 in normal, whats the use?
thanks
the gyro inputs i gave u are just temporary for now while flying u may have to increase or decrease the gain ...the % of gain depends on the servo type also mostly in heading hold mode u will need around 65% +-...rate mode is used to fly scale ...for people who like scale flying cause the helicopter behaves like a real one without the heading locking mode .....setup if done right works on both ...i hope u have offset ur tail pitch if its done right u will have to use little or no trims in heading hold and rate mode u just need to adjust gyro gain
Thank you. :)

i got the fbl head from RCBazaar,
how to fix it, washout base is moving freely on the main shaft,
do i need to tighten it, if then what height i need to fix it.
thanks
yes u have to tighten it first turn on your heli on then at mid stick check where the arms are level tighten there also check for any binding at full positive pitch if so just loosen and increase height slightly
also i recommend u change ur flybarless head later on when new stuff comes in rcbazaar all in one heads are better I,H or dfc is good too... :headscratch:
thank you,
when i give the rudder input the slider stays in one end(happens in both ends)and its not moving when i turn the heli, but it moves for the rudder input?(HH mode), and also without the rudder input gyro sensing and tail is working, but after rudder input its not sensing.
i checked for the binding but there is no binding because it works well in rate mode.
:banghead:
which colour does led display on gyro if its blue then heading hold mode if purple then rate and it behaves like that only lol no need to worry :giggle:
okay, it blinks blue and its hh mode.
after rudder input, tail slides to end and when i turn the heli gyro is not sensing so slider not moving for any movement of the heli till there is a rudder input.
i am testing on the desk.
is this normal?
can u explain whats happening, sorry if i am wrong in anything
it blinks blue ??????????? it is supposed to be steady i hope u letting the gyro initiate completely
And also place the heli on a flat surface
sorry man,
it stays blue and if i change the gain below 50 it goes to purple.
hh and rate mode are fine.
in hh mode the gyro sense the heli movement and slider is moving when i turn the heli but after the rudder input the slider goes to one end and stays there, after that if i turn the heli the gyro is not sensing till i give stick input :help:
heli is on flat surface and light is steady blue?
everything is fine till i give tx input after input the tail slides to one end and stays there till i give next input, its not sensing the heli movement
:help:
yup it is supposed to behave like that only dont worry just check your gyro is sensing in right direction that is the main thing
okay thank you, gyro is sensing right,
i was using avionic g560, but i couldnt remember how it was working.
:salute:
the secondary set up where u adjust the gyro performance leave everything related to tail the way it is put heli on sport mode ,for u dont go higher it becomes very agile for a beginner .half stick movement will cause heli to roll lol stay away from pro mode >:D >:D
sure thank you
in fb heli, i adjust the positive and negative swash level using endpoint adjust,
in fbl avionic x5 what should i do for leveling at full positive and negative?
thanks
u dont need too if it is level at mid stick ....this problem might occour if u using analog servos ...but for digital no problem...u cant use endpoints on this ....
i am using analog servos and swash is level at midstick but not at ful positive and full negative what should i do?
u cant do anything with analog or gyro or transmitter cause if u change endpoints it will mess up the whole setting ...thats y i was insisting on using digital i dont have this problem
okay thank you,
for time being i am using these servos,
leveling is good at midstick but full negative and positive hairline of gap is there, will that make the heli unstable?
not that much :P
this gyro has a very straight forward setup n works very well and all use digital servos on flybarless so no body checks for analog :P
thank you, i am waiting for savox in RCB.
if i am ordering from HK, do i need to pay in customs?
if your are ordering only servos i doubt ....if u have never ordered and your ordering first time let someone else order for you
can u order for me?
if u can, i will let u know,
suggest cyclic servos for 450 from hk?

That doesn't sound right. You can always tweak the end-points to get it to be level towards the extremes also. See this previous discussion :
http://www.rcindia.org/helis/building-a-heli-for-the-first-time/msg9644/#msg9644
http://www.rcindia.org/search2?search=ccpm+interaction
If the comment is about analog servos having poor centering (ie, consistent range of motion) in general, then it may be valid. But eliminating CCPM interaction is independent of servo type.
i am having fbl head with avionic x5,
how can i tweak at the endpoint because, all the setting are done in GYRO,
there is no setting to adjust the endpoints,
can i do that in tx?
yes anwar sir but when using a flybarless gyro it is a totally different thing messing with the endpoints ...the endpoints always need to be at 100 if we increase or decrease after set up alot of things change and become unbalanced
ccpm interactions can only be done on flybar setup using endpoints on flybarless the problem does not arise due to the use of only digital servos .....
http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__24764__TGY_306G_HV_High_Voltage_Ultra_Fast_High_Torque_MG_Digital_Alloy_Cased_Servo_3_7kg_05sec_21g.html u need to get 4 of these the best right now
okay thank you,
i will let u know if i need, can u order it for me, but not now.
Ah.. I overlooked the fact that this is FBL. But CCPM interactions are a fact of life (FBL or not) even with digital servos. Better units like the Mikado VBar allow us to tune this out in their settings/software.
yes sir but so far i have used digital and never faced a problem of ccpm interactions  ....break break ....yes i will order if u want later

thank you
dont haste in the build go slow but buy good stuff so u dont regret later .........

yes i am aware of that but this aint a beast x v3 ..it should not matter u will be doing general flying anyway ...later on get the digital servos .....i have never seen uneven throws on a digital servo if it does happ its because the servo is not perfectly 90 degrees and u have gone wrong somewhere in sub trims ...
Okay thank you.
Sure I will try for perfect 90 degree .:)
And I will let u know if I need the hk servos thanks for the support

hey did u get the super speed servo for the tail right http://rcbazaar.com/products/1854-savox-sh-0262mg-super-speed-metal-gear-micro-digital-servo.aspx this one ???????????
cause what u have shown me above is super torque u dont need super torque for tail u need super speed
http://rcbazaar.com/products/1856-savox-sh-0264mg-super-torque-metal-gear-micro-digital-servo.aspx
got this one for tail
its mentioned as super torque but if u go into the spec its showing as super speed and suitable for rudder.
and

the specs are the same
ya both r good to go ;D ;D
thank you :)
pulse and frequency for these two are not available? :headscratch:
can i use the 0262's pulse & frequency?
no pls ask and use mostly they are 1520 and use them at 270hz but please confirm with rcb or search online
okay thank you

i mailed to savox and they asked me to use 200hz for both the servos.
In avionix x5 for swash its fine, it got 200hz but for tail it has 50,165, 270 & 333hz so i can i use 165hz for tail?
thanks
