Hi everyone, I have been building a 4 axis CNC hotwire cutter for a while now. Inspired by RC Keith. I was able to design a machine which uses mdf , aluminium extrusions and some 3d printer parts. The machine cuts high density thermocol wing cores very well. I've been working on this project since last September and to be honest, I was too sluggish in between. Attaching pics. Please let me know your remarks. Thankyou.

Tried cutting a tapered wing today, turned out pretty good.

Well done looks great, many years back I had thought to make a similar machine but never got started. I have been cutting foam core manually.

How much was the cost of building it apart from the man hours ?

@manu

It is cutting very well.
Were you able to get rid of that grinding sound it had earlier?
