Am looking for a new FS-th9x transmitter or its other equivalents.
I know RCBazaar sells them but it has been out of stock for quite a while now. :(
Any idea where else i can get one from, withing India?

ajayjohn

Thanks for the prompt response Vishal! (Would have repped you but don't have enough posts :( )

BTW do you have any experience with RCBharat.com? I read a lot of good things about RCDhamaka and RCBazaar on the forum so checked there initially? Does RCBharat enjoy a similar reputation too?

vishal

Now i don't remember doing a purchase with rcbharat , but if i had to i'll go ahead. it too is one of the popular LHS in our country.

ajayjohn

Thanks again Vishal! I did a search through the forum and as you rightly said, the seller is fairly responsive and enjoys a good reputation.

ajayjohn

I sent RCBharat a PM but couldn't get a response but saw recent posts by the account on other threads. So posting my queries here.
Could you please help out?

1) The price of the Radio+taxes+shipping goes quite a bit higher than other stores like RCBazaar. Is there something i am missing here in the package sold or is it the same as http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/397-fs-th9x-9ch-24ghz-transmitter-receiver.aspx

2) You seem to have a discount coupon which popped up when i was about to leave the site saying
"Please don't go away. We really want you to buy our products!
Use this code to get 10 % discount: DISCOUNT"
But when i tried the coupon "DISCOUNT" but i get an error saying
"There is 1 error :
01. Voucher name invalid."

3) Do i also need to provide my ID proof and do i get any government approval certificate for using the radio?

Sorry if any query seems noobish or if these kind of posts are against the forum policy. Mods please delete the post in that case.

Not sure about total cost of delivered product for the other retailers, but rcbharat does sell the fsth9x for 5759 all included - tx/rx + taxes + delivery - they seem to be the only ones with stock at this point. I picked one up last week and it got delivered in 3 days.

ajayjohn

Thanks Frank! That info certainly does help :)
3 days delivery sounds pretty great!

Hi
Firstly this is just my 2cent and I maybe wrong. Since you are a beginner I am assuming you are on a tight budget go this route. I already regret buying a clone radio (will not specify brand at the moment) because it ruined my confidence in flying. On the other hand I purchased a good brand hi quality foam trainer ( easy star2) which has lasted more beatings than one can imagine and is literally plug and play.
If only my radio was as good. I stress because your radio is a one time permanent (or sell it on the forum) purchase. Planes come and go nitro electric large or small foam balsa abs blah blah.
Anyway an affordable radio proven to be pretty reliable is the hobbyking radios which are the same as the Chinese re branded radios available in some leading stores plus or minus a few features.

You in a rush tight budget - http://www.edallhobby.com/category.php?id_category=7#/. Super customer service.

Why not get a good radio http://www.rcdhamaka.com/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=89_110. I have heard you can never go wrong with JR . Heck if you don't need it I am sure people will buy it of you for a good price consider today's $$  :Rs: :help: do the math for yourself.

Also check out the for sale thread in the forum.  If you are fine with used radios there are plenty and my theory a working used Chinese radio is sort of safer than a new one because the new one may have never been tested at all to begin with  :giggle: JK

I am currently waiting for my clone-cool name-made in china in collaboration with us-  ;D radio to come back from flight worthy approval. Anybody listening  :help: hint.

Mods- Would like this to be added in any section that helps with budget radio currently available in India.

Thanks rcimpulse!
Really appreciate the detailed post guiding me with this :)
I did check out the links and found some good radios. Although, i must say that the JR radios are way beyond my budget, the HobbyKing ones do fit in pretty well.

Just one query... I completely understand what you said but am a little confused due to the multiple views i have come across.
I have found various threads on this forum as well as other places on the internet suggesting that the FlySky or Turnigy brands have pretty great hardware but poor software (which can we worked around using custom firmwares). I also find users like aniket210696 who probably were in a similar dilemma a few months back having purchased the FlySky th9x and even recommending it to others.

So just to confirm, is this an issue with the Indian collaboration brand you are mentioned which i did figure out, or is this true for all the Chinese radios too? Please don't get me wrong, I am just looking for more clarification/multiple opinions before making a choice.
Also, the display and other options in the FlySky radio do make it easier to configure and handle than the HK ones right?

vishal

the display in flysky is indeed an advantage and i am sure you will love tinkering with it. a lot of rc guys including me have used this radio and this being a chinese radio does'nt mean that it is bound to malfunction. any peice of branded hardware too can go kaput anytime, only the chances are less.
i would say that u stop worrying so much and enjoy your flying.

RCNeil21

the new radio launched by flysky is the FS-T6 its 6 channel and has the same firmware as 9X, but coz 9x released earlier and its a radio which you can tinker around with for minimal cost to increase the funtions of it its more popular. If you are a beginner and dont want to tinker around much with the internals of the 9x to get increased capabilities then i suggest the FS-T6. The 9x for its cost is an awesome radio when upgraded.
Build planes like feathers rather than tanks, both handle bullets equally well.

ajayjohn

Thanks Vishal and RCNeil21.
I would have loved to buy a JR Radio as RCImpulse suggested but unfortunately it is way beyond my present budget.
So as suggested by you guys, i went for a FS-th9x from RCBharat. The product got shipped within 30 mins of ordering!  :o
Pretty happy with the RCBharat telephonic assistance and service till now :)

One a related note, I am also planning to use a LiPo for the radio as 8 AA cells wouldn't be practical in the long term i guess.
I have read that most people choose something like a 3s 1400mah-2200mah 20C Lipo for this radio.
Am i correct on this? Is this battery & balanced charger at the link below a good one or can you suggest anything better? (RCBharat seems to be out of stock)
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1266-wolfpack-2200mah-20c-111v.aspx
http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/992-wolfpack-b3ac-2s3s-compact-charger.aspx

Lastly even after getting the LiPo, i guess there will me a mod needed to the radio to connect to LiPo's right?
Could you please guide me on how i can go about doing this and if there are any pointers i need to keep in mind?

I have a fair bit of aero-modelling experience with balsa and foam non-powered gliders as well as a few RTF toy planes and helicopters.
But i plan to initially spend a good deal of time practicing on a sim before moving on to actual flying/building. Hope this is the right approach.

arun.sreelakam

All your approaches are right but the lipo choosen is not..
You should go for a transmitter lipo pack..
20c will burn the tx..
If you have good programmable charger go for lipo life tx pack..
Or just have a normal 2-3s lipo cherge go for any 3s lipo with under 5-8 c discharge rate.. normally go for a lipo pack speciallyfo transmitter...
Rcb sells that..

nah you can use the lipo which you are saying no problems. 20C means it has a high discharge rate but it will only do so if the transmitter demands it. so if u have the lipo then go ahead , but if you are ordering one then go for a transmitter pack ie less of a C.

saintofinternet

i was looking at the same transmitter from RCBHARAT but it was written [UPGRADE] and another antenna is shown besides the transmitter... now is it a primary for another frequency with an upgrade to 2.4Ghz??

Link for reference : http://www.rcbharat.com/4ghz-systems/12-fly-sky-9ch-tx-rx.html

i am holding my order till i don't get that UPGRADE stuff really clarified

any and all inputs will be considered very helpful... thanking you all in advance.

I received the FS-TH9x from RCBharat in just 3 days of ordering! Quite prompt service :)

Just had one clarification, on the main body, my radio just has a rubber dome shaped stub at he place where the antenna is shown on the item display page. Is this how it is by default? (Am not talking about the antenna on the detachable module which in my case, if perfectly in place, this is the tall, extendable metal antenna on the top of the main body). Pics shown below...

frankinsmoke

The metal antenna is how it was in the earlier variants. This is what the new one is set up with. Not an issue at all. Seems like you are asking all the questions I went through a few weeks ago. :)

ajayjohn

Thanks man! Its great to have a forum like this with guys like you to get clarifications so promptly! :)
