If it is the Japanese one, then a fellow RC flyer (who lived in Japan for a while and picked up RC there) had all praise for it.

Mugen Seiki Rules

Tornado is from Netherlands. They have specially designed heli fuel. Supposed to be very good. But expensive. A litre can of 15% nitro cost 800Rs. Fuel is becoming exceedingly difficult to source. I think Petrol makes sense inspite of the much higher inital investment.

Was not sure where it is manufactured.  The guy who told me said that was the most popular fuel in Japan.

A quick search suggests that car guys (mail4ajo  Roll Eyes ) are the ones who really like it !

Yes, I guess its quite reasonable these days with imported fuel and some local fuel at double the price. Aircraft guys have all the fun with raw fuel. I guess Nitro is the ingredient that pushes up the cost.

But when you start to be more serious and have more models, then its an issue considering, I dont even use premium fuel for my 1:1 car. Grin

I have recently used both Tornado as well as Rapico for nitro cars. I used to mix my own fuel earlier. My observations:

1. Mixing your own now is no longer a money server specially if you need about 16 to 20% nitro in it. Moreover you also need degummified castor oil or synthetic which are again expensive. With the currect cost of lab quality nitro, and methanol the fuel costs about 450 to Rs 500 per litre.
2. Rapicon is now available in Delhi with 16% nitro from Mr Kalsi at Rs 500 per quart (950 cc) sealed reuseable bottle . The airplane fuel is I think  Rs 1300 for a US gallon can with lower nitro content for airplanes.
3. Tornado fuel is available wherever ModelArt Places it ( in Delhi Model Art and SkyRC for Rs 2200 for 4 litres can 16% and Rs 2300 for 20% nitro)
4. I found Tornado quality better specially for new engines since the lubricant in it is degummed castor and synthetic mix whereas Rapicon is only synthetic oil. This mix is supposedly much better in the long run for engines. With both, the residue was hardly any unlike the mix I used to make earlier even with Castor oil BP. The little residue in the exhaust pours out easily without any gumminess.
5. If these fuels remain easily available, I see no reason to mix yourself. I give kudos to the importers.
6. I have also noted re fuel shelf life that fuels kept by me in a tightly sealed container and in a reasonable dark and cool place have lost none of their effectiveness even after a year.

Its best to buy fuel from the importer itself as they provide they lowest prices ... modelart is the importer and distributer for tornado .. and for rapican its jacks hobbies
