@ shatul ok shatul so I think they are requiring proof of purchase for your item so what you can do that is contact the Delhi FPO Or Mumbai fpo where the parcel is stuck and ask them where to send and what to send ?? and maybe you will get a letter from customs that your item is stuck and it requires proof of purchase.

i called FPO @ the mentioned number(23235501) but they said u need to contact customs department and for customs contact number call on 011-23233325 so i called there but it doesn't connect

so i got A letter from the customs for a wpc approval for a radio. my previous radio had got through without any problem. anyone have an idea or have dealt with this? help would be appreciated

My Friend I am really sorry to inform you that its really hard to get WPC Approval Many have tried yet failed and the only option is that telling them to return the parcel and get your money back from the Seller As it is really hard to get WPC approval. Yes one thing can be done that it by a letter it can be explained to them how you plan to use it and all. If you don't mind can you tell me which radio is it maybe some Member who would have ordered that if got cleared may help you with that and also telling the tracking number too ??

Yes It can be problem importing a Quadcopter ( never say it a drone its a drone but we don't want to use that word in Rcindia ) Now if you see as it contains a Radio It may be detained by The Customs and last option left is either to Fight With  Customs or tell them to Return the Parcel and get your money back. As this Person Imported a RTF Quad Copter Without any issues as The Seller I mean the Website marked Buyed the items as something else.
So the website is wise( No Offence Meant Here to Other Websites ). Do check out this website has Cheerson Or Not?? yes Do update me about that then we will surely Discuss more on that. And Yes one more thing if anything like Radio Or Quadcopters are imported there is a chance that it may get stucked of 85 % by Registered Airmail But if its FedEx OR DHL everything will be Cleared Without any Problem as that's why they charge so much.

First Of All Welcome To The Forum. I understand your problem ajin but one thing I am confused In that is now as it came back from customs why didn't they again Record the Information with the retention reason as it came out of customs and other than its not a prohibited thing too. So I don't know why they did that but I think you should as its mistake they have done it second thing I just think not sure. So what you can do is that Contact Mumbai FPO And ask them and tell them the case that why its appearing double time they tell what to do and whats right in this time. Once you get a reply from them update here then we will see what to do.

Hello,

I ordered a Syma X5 C1 quadcopter with 2 batteries from sp4mm3r. I got a letter from the Mumbai customs saying that it is retained because of one of the following reasons.

1) Goods imported for personal use - The dutiable articles intended for personal use is restricted to Rs.2000 CIF and if it is above that then it is liable for confiscation.

2) Goods parcels treated to be as gift by post - Gifts upto a value limit of 10,000 is allowed free of duty.

List of documents to be shown to customs :-
Importer and Exporter Code No.
Full description of goods and it's use
Commercial Invoice
Proof of payment/Purchase bill.

sp4mm3r sent me a commercial invoice which states that the total goods worth is $ 48.51 and they have mentioned RC Simulators and Tools.

What should I do from here onwards? I don't want my stuff to be confiscated.

First of all Welcome To The Forum. Now As You have imported a Thing Which More than Rs 2000 in Registered Post obviously Its Stuck. Remember Never use Registered post For Things Which are above 2000 rs as There are 80 to 90 % chances that it will get stuck in Customs.But don't worry We will find out a solution. Now What you have to do is that you need to send the documents which are required by the customs don't worry in this I know its difficult case because outside its  written its RC simulator but inside its a Quad So don't worry.
Now You need to send a Covering Letter that this is for intended for personal use and its full description of the item and yes its use.Second Commercial invoice and proof payment. And yes don't need to Send Importers and Exporters Code (IEC).
Send This Documents To The address Which Is Given In The Letter. And Yea You will have to wait till 7 to 10 days for the parcel to be cleared. And in The meantime don't call the customs or this may make the Case More Difficult.
And Yes Remember Always use EMS,DHL,Fedex,UPS Or any courier service Except Registered Post for Goods Above 2000 rs except For Books.

It is under 2000 33.48 USD without the 15$ shipping fee with shipping fee it is 48.51 USD

Yup Then That's the Problem. If you see Including the Shipping fee it is 48.51 $ that Is the CIF Value on which customs calculate and as its more than 2000 Rs that's why its stuck in The Customs.
Always Take up the CIF value.
CIF:- Cost,Insurance And Freight Charges. So that's why its stuck in Customs.

Yes its just a motor So No Problem I think so in That As Many Members Have Ordered Motors From international Webistes Like Hobbyking.com and the motors have reached Them and as its ebay so you have the Money back gurantee too. Just Ask the seller that is he Providing A Registered Tracking Number because in Normal Airmail the parcel may reach you or may not. So its a problem. So just ask him about that.
