Having told by few fliers that EPP Foam is not available in India, I did some digging and found

http://www.kknag.com/exp_polypropylene.htm

They are manufacturers of EPP Foam, based in Pune and offices/factories across the country. I talked to their main office and they confirmed they are manufacturing EPP foam. I am trying to get contacts of local Distributor/Dealers of their product in Bangalore

http://www.adppl.com/inner.asp  --> Products --> HIPS --> Bio Foam

They manufacture Bio Foam

Old Timers, please do share pointers if you are already have some, which would save our energy!

Update for EPP Foam: SS Nag replied to me. Unfortunately they supply in bulk (may be spin the product on order). We have to spend over 3.1 Lacks to have foam directly from them!

HI guys .. i have a great news for all the builders here.. i did a little of research in foams recently.. i came across this awesome high density foam which is much denser and stronger than depron. And the best part, its available in bangalore. Its called blue styrofoam xps. And its actually really cheap jus 350 bucks for 4 feet by 5 feet sheet of 1 inch thickness...

Infact its chemical name is Extruded polystyrene. It is more sturdy than depron and much cheaper than it. The only cons are:
1. The minimum thickness available in market is 25mm(this is in Kolkata, people from other cities might get sheets of thickness less than 25mm available in retail but it is very unlikely).
2. Secondly, i am not completely sure but i had read somewhere that while sanding it, the fine particles that are produced is harmful to the lungs.

You can contact Raj from EPPIndia. I think they have good stock of EPP foam and they are Bangalore based.
I have brought some epp foam sheets from them few weeks ago.

All the below are the one and the same. Just different names.
What matters is the density !!

Chemical Name: EXTRUDED Polystrene (XPS)
Traditional Name: Pink or Blue Foam
Common or Trade Name: Styrofoam (of DOW)
Hobby Name: Depron, Cellfoam (all these are XPS specifically for the hobby)

Traditional Blue Foam of around 32kg/m3 is considered as benchmark for modelling.
