Title: Wanted to know if this configuration works
Post by: TKSP33DY on July 07, 2016, 07:29:03 PM
Hey guys,

I decided to reuse some parts from my old configuration and build a new and improved quad.

I have these with me:
3S 2200mah 40C battery
F330 Glass Fiber Mini Quadcopter Frame
20A ESCs
HobbyKing kk2.1 FCB

I wanted to buy these:
SunnySky 2212 980KV Motors [The website has a chart that only shows 1047 props. I wanted to know if 1045 props will do the trick as well. I would prefer a lift of more than 700g per motor.]
and 1045 Propellers

Thanks in advance.

There is nothing wrong to work with 1045. The website just only shows that.
BTW whats the weight of your quad,is it heavy 330mm quad or is it your requirement to have 700gm thrust/motor.

What's the total weight of your quad? That motors are great. You can use 1045 props no problem but prefer the thin HQprops from Rcmumbai because they are thin and motors will not get hot if quad's weight is large. You just need this components? No FPV? Why u want 700g thrust per motor?

I just realized that i weighed it wrong. Bought a new scale and weighed it again.
The entire setup without the props weighs 700gms.

In my first setup i had used 1100kv motors with three bladed 7045 props and it was the most stable quad i had ever seen until i broke a prop and found no spares.
I replaced it with 2 bladed 8045 props and it was unstable. I am sure that i tuned it right, but it would overcompensate even for light breezes.

Ever since then i have been struggling to find the right combination.
So i was looking to replace the motors and props but keep cost to a minimum.

Do you have any suggestions?

PS: Inv3nt0r I am a college student who has already gone over budget so i cant even dream of installing fpv to my drone :p

Friend when you say as budget please specify it in number so that we can suggest a better build.
You cannot get a fine quality motors, esc and props for cheap. If you want it for college project then any motor will work. But if you want to stay in hobby and want to go fly every weekend you need to better go for good quality motors.
