Title: [BUILD LOG] Self-Designed RC Row Boat
Post by: Rooster on July 15, 2025, 09:31:08 AM
I always wanted to build a Row boat. Had thought multiple mechanical options for the rowing mechanism. however turning mechanically was challenging. So decided to use Arduino to drive 4 servos to create the rowing mechanism. This has been a very satisfying build for me. I wanted the create a wood polish finish, but I was lazy to go through the process hence just painted it. Entire build is self designed and built using Balsa.

Covered the entire balsa model with Wood filler to give it a smooth exterior.

Designed these brass Shafts and got these made from local workshop. Also fixed a L bracked to hold the vertical motion servos. The Idea is one servo moves the ores Horizontally and other servo moves the ore vertically. Both movements in tandem gives the rowing motion.

The ores are made from Chopsticks and paddles from balsa
