I always wanted to build a Row boat. Had thought multiple mechanical options for the rowing mechanism. however turning mechanically was challenging. So decided to use Arduino to drive 4 servos to create the rowing mechanism. This has been a very satisfying build for me. I wanted the create a wood polish finish, but I was lazy to go through the process hence just painted it. Entire build is self designed and built using Balsa.
Covered the entire balsa model with Wood filler to give it a smooth exterior.
Designed these brass Shafts and got these made from local workshop. Also fixed a L bracked to hold the vertical motion servos. The Idea is one servo moves the ores Horizontally and other servo moves the ore vertically. Both movements in tandem gives the rowing motion.

Very interesting! Waiting for more

The ores are made from Chopsticks and paddles from balsa
Maidened the Row boat yesterday. The rowing worked well. Just that a little fine tuning is still requried. But overall satisfied with the build. It was very windy and the boat kept getting pushed to the bank. Now the next part is to get a human figure on the boat to row.

Added a Boatman to row the boat. Enjoyed making the clay head. Started with wrapping some paper on a steel wire and then covered it with clay. Coated the clay with clear epoxy. The steel wire is mounted on a servo for head movement

Excellent :salute:
Its so wonderful, but you really need to put the ole gramps or someone in there, because this could start a new Paranaormal Legend where ever you do the Rowing .
Actually it is a case of imperfection... Here is what I actually wanted to created.. although it is grumpy..but the outcome is far from realty.
