Title: Hpi VORZA flux in mumbai ???
Post by: stringer.6 on August 22, 2012, 11:56:38 AM
Hey Fellow Rc'ers  :)

Well ,
I have been looking around for a rc racer , something that i can take to a track for racing ...

I have been in this hobby for around 2 to 3 yrs and now i want to get into racing (at pro level) ...

I need suggestions for a racer , something that is very professional for racing ..

I have a budget of around 40,000 to 50,000 rs ...

I would preffer going with an Electric , just because they are quiter to run around in the city, considering that i stay in busy mumbai .. Heheh

I have was thinking of going with the Hpi Vorza , but i feel its more of a basher than a racer ..

Anyone have any experience with these pls guide..

So what i need from you guys is suggestions for a rc racer (Electric prefferable but open to nitros too )
Also should be fully tweakable , if you know what i mean  >:D heheh
Budget 40 k to 50 k..

I am waiting for suggestions from you guys and am totally relying on you for help ..

the vorza is an excellent buggy, even on the track . some of my friends have it. ran it once, feels great and drive great.

u can get a vorza and some lipos for 40-50 k in india (not sure on prices) .

or if you are interested in building it yourself u can buy the d8 hara buggy kit and tekno e-conversion set with tekin rx8 and t8 1900kv combo and ul have a more competent buggy than the vorza for a slightly higher total cost (maybe 10k more) than vorza. and the extras from the hb d8 kit u can later use to convert it back to nitro or sell off the chassis and engine mounts etc. if you are really interested in racing i suggest (if u have enough experience) u take the hb kit and tekno route tho this requires some knowledge and a radio set . :)

Hey pravesh736 ,

Thanx for the quick reply ...

I think this is a great idea ...

Becoz this way i can have the option of running a nitro car as well as the option of switching to elctro in the future if practicing on it becomes a problem in society .. Hehehe.. {:)}

Infact the Hpi D8 was my first choice ... Just tat its a nitro And noise is the scene ...

Just wanted to know if the conversion thingy is very technical kya ???I mean it should not be such that i invest so much and then get stuck.  :banghead:

I spoke to mr. Rahul Mohan of HPi india and he helped me out a lot ... He said tat the D8 will have to be called for specially as its not in stock with them right now ... He also said tat the vorza is a great car to go with ...

But my heart is with the D8  :P

if u want to try the losi do go ahead. they are great cars . one of the best no matter what haters say , i drive both losi buggy and truggy nitro. there is support for losi in india via dogboneracing(search google and fb) ..

going with the kit gives u better car to race and there are little technical things u should know, nothng much but requires u to ship some items internationally from US etc , which are not available here . if ur buying only from india den better to go with vorza, if willing to ship some stuffs internationally then u can go d8 kit route.

ok ,

I checked out the losi's ... but my heart is still on the D8's..

So here's what i will do ..

I will go with the HPi D8s nitro stock
http://www.hpiracing.com/kitinfo/106116/

And then later if noise ,handling , performance.... is an issue ,
i will call for the Electronic conversion kit from tekno ..

and then even later i will upgrade the parts to the D8 hara kit ..

What say??

Is this possible ??

D8s Nitro stock -> D8  tekno e-conversion set -> D8s hara race kit

Absolutely. You will grow out of the RTR servos and radio pretty soon.

the d8 rtr is fine by how i saw it . but one thing is d8 rtr and d8 hara are very diffrnt . u can follow your plan but to get the best of it first decide whether ud like e buggy or nitro. if u want only electric then get the hara(cheaper than d8rtr) and tekno conversion , also quality of hara parts like shock towers are better than rtr , knuckles, hub carriers are metal. etc etc .

If you are serious about racing and intend to continue, start with a kit. You will end up sepnding a lot upgrading to a kit level.

Very stable thanks to its wide stance and performs really well. It's quite durable. Reasonably good RTR package as well. The 8ight had some difficulties with its front center driveshaft due to its angle It wore out very quickly. Pravesh will give you more specifics. The only problem I see with a Losi is the Standard hardware. That means that you'll need a driver set specifically for the standard hardware. Most of the other cars use Metric hardware.

losi has centre front driveshaft wear problem (not a big problem as i havent had to change anything so far in 3 cars) due to the angle, but the driveshaft pin can be changed for 3$ for 4s, driveshaft doesnt need to be changed . if its your first nitro . go for the rtr . i too had one . handles way better than the other rtrs. if u want a nitro rtr for racing this is the one to go for. if u can spend more get the kit .
and yes ul need standard hex drivers(not 2mm hex or 2.5 mm hex screws.. sizes include .050", 1/16", 5/64", and 3/32".)
