Title: Misto rock crawler circuit repair/ modding Post by: rishi on March 07, 2013, 04:34:07 PM i have a maisto rock crawler. i accidently swapped the battery terminals n since then its dead. i dont know what happened. most probably the circuit is fried.
i am a newbie n after doing some reading i thot i could install esc, tx/rx sytem and a servo. i need to know what would be the min requirements. also my parents are not keen to give me money to spend on "toys" being a grown up. if anyone could tell me how to repair it or give me an estimate of how much minimum expenditure i need. it would be really helpful. thank u Title: Re: Misto rock crawler circuit repair/ modding Post by: rishi on March 17, 2013, 07:34:50 AM anyone please reply?

I also have this crawler & let me tell you it is a very good crawler for being a toy. Reverse voltage protection is very hard to find even for hobby grade electronics so you can expect that it's over. I have not modified it due to lack of time but you can do it for a rewarding experience but it does require patience. You will have to change all electronics. Motor: You will need 2 180 size motors which are bigger than stock 130 size motors but fit nicely- http://www.thinkrc.com/spare-part-ek1-0005a-000160-esky-180-motor-05m-pinion-p-304.html Esc: You will need a brushed Esc & run both motors in parallel i.e. solder +ve terminal of both motors together & same for -ve terminals- http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-RC-VSC-240A-Brushed-Speed-Control-ESC-For-1-10-Car-Truck-Rock-Crawler-/290692792214?pt=Radio_Control_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43aea3ff96#ht_4354wt_1139&afsrc=1 A cheap radio: http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store/__10608__Hobby_King_GT_2_2_4Ghz_2Ch_Tx_Rx.html A micro servo if required. Similar items as above can make this one hell of a crawler. Around Rs.3000 may have to be splurged including shipping. This hobby ain't cheap ;D Title: Re: Misto rock crawler circuit repair/ modding Post by: rishi on March 18, 2013, 11:28:51 PM thank u so much. this was the most awiated reply. i really loved the truck.
