Title: First build material selection
Post by: singhalman96 on June 30, 2016, 11:21:55 AM
Hi guys,
 I am planning to makea MF-15 (the links to the plans is given below, so can someone please suggest weather I can use a 5 mm 20kg/m³ density foam( with carbon fiber rods to support the structure ) as I am not able to find 30 kg density epp foam anywhere in Noida and I don't want my first plane to be made from depron as if it crashes I would have to start over again

Thanks in advance

But I have already gotten the blueprints, ans I am trying to improve my skills on a plane that I bought earlier so flying will not be a problem, but about material I have no idea so please suggest

ok;
as you wish.
I have 1+ year of flying experience and have logged almost 11-12 hours flying.
I never had the confidence of flying an aerobatic model at the field.
Jets are a different story.
I have flown park flyers; SPADs; foamies. I STILL cant touch jets.
However if you still want to get a jet done;
Go with 5mm Depron.
Easier to build with a balsa spar.

Whats that plane;
a high wing trainer?
Please do specify size too.

You can fly with me. I fly in New Delhi if you are interested.

Can I make it with epp foam as depron is costlier than epp and epp is even crash proof

upto you.
I have never handled epp.
the wing might need carbon fiber.

i earlier had a epp kit
epp is very flexible not good for beginner(that is why it now does not exist ;D :giggle: :giggle:)
depron/biofoam is best material
get it from sitaram stationers in lajpat nagar

and yeah the jet you have linked would very hard to build
take one with a 2d nose from frcfoamies or if you do want a 3d nose ,take ft 22

@prabal
jets are difficult to build yet easy to fly
