Title: RC Glider Launch Methods
Post by: VC on February 17, 2010, 10:09:18 PM
I am trying to build a 2 Ch 36" Span Glider and was surfing for photographs to help in my design. I came across this site with 2 methods of launching RC Gliders. Discus launching and Bungee Launching - I've never heard of these before. Interesting! Check it out....................

Cheers!

i don know much about gliders ...but the discuss launching method mentioned there is weired considering the aspect ratios of gliders that is since they are long holding one tip and  thorowing it like a discuss means ,,,by a little physics knowledge i have "edges of the circle rotates faster than the centre"...that again mean "it is impossible for the glider to glide"

VC,
I have done a lot of bungee launches on my 2M Dynaflite glider when i got into the hobby.
Excellent way indeed to learn to fly planes. Discuss throw requires more skill. I have seen that, but never really tried it.
