After the sweepstakes it's been too quiet!
Decided to build something :giggle: :giggle: Again! One of those fits of masochism which aeromodellers periodically suffer from ;) ;)
Regal Bipe adapted from plans on RCGroups
Brief Specs: Span 36" Length 36"
Chord 11/9 Tapered
AUW 1.1 Kg (about 200 Grams overweight 8-) 8-))
Motor/Prop: 3536-1100 12*6
First time I'm building a Kfm Wing. This is 7.25%
Wing, fuse
I had these aileron pushrod tubes for over 10 years. Finally found a use for them ;D ;D
The ESC sits below the 4 square
Used 9 g MG Servos for Rudder/Élevator, and a single 17 g servo for the Ailerons
Bottom wing fitted
All fitted. Some finishing left
Detail of Aileron Joiner Linkage

Sweepstakes or no sweepstakes sir...you're unstoppable
Looks lovely
Thanks Girish :)
Great build sir .... Hats off ... By the way ... Is foam board / dapron same as biofoam ?
Great and fast build sir all the best for maiden :)
Regards
yash :hatsoff:
Thanks Doc. I have so far come accross 3 types of Depron
1. Compressed foam, called biofoam. Brittle, lacks toughness, but very light. Can be improved a little by putting a layer of clear packing tape. I've used this in the top of the Kfm wing
2. "Depron". Biofoam with a very thin layer of polyester skin on both sides. Stronger than biofoam but light (heavier than bio). Hoever linited strength. I've used this for the main wing
3. Foamboard: Biofoam covered on both sides with a layer of thick, strong paper. The strongest of the three - and by far the heaviest. Building with this always puts the model wide over the scale. Used it for the fuse and tail feathers
Thanks Yash :D
Awesome build Sir, await maiden tomm... {:)}
Wow.

Sir,
Next project suggestion for you is coro quad Taj Mahal replica with rotors on minarets!
Awesome build
BTW Sir, didn't get the second foam what type of foam is it.
I've seen the first one and the third one first time hearing abut the second one.
Very nice build sir, waiting for Maiden!!!
@KK Iyer Sir: That would be something to watch!
Thanks for the explanation rai sir : bow
Thanks Sandeep, Nitish, Maahin :thanks: :thanks:
Maiden will only be around the middle of June as I am travelling
Iyer sir - Thank You!! :salute:
I have a better build idea, but cannot do it so I'm leaving it to you
Build a Giant Quad, lift the Taj Mahal and move it to Indore
Sanjay sir...u hav made an awesome plane..I am new to dis field...wid just 1 year of experience in my cllg..I just wanted to know where can I get all d three types of biofoam u decribed especially last one..foamboard..in delhi or varanasi..or in any other northrn region of india..I need it for my wings...I hav depron but it is too brittle to bend...
Thank you
Available in Delhi at Sitaram Stationers, Suoth Extension Market Part 1. They have another branch in Lajpat Nagar
There is a technique for creating bends in Depron. See this http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/my-first-foamy-scratch-build-baby-blender/ (http://www.rcindia.org/electric-planes/my-first-foamy-scratch-build-baby-blender/)
Good luck
Thanks a lot sir...can u tell me..which is the best biofoam for making wings nd which for fuselage acc to weight and strength amongst the three types...????
I think reply # 13 pretty much explains it all. Fuse and control surfaces do need strength. Again, it depends on which material you are actually able to get

nice job .. i had made slightly modified regal.. balsa fuse , and depron wings.. will post the pics soon..
Thanks Shadman. Balsa fuse really sounds a good option. What was the AUW, and how did the CoG work out?
Looking forward to seeing the pics
That's a beautiful model Sanjay sir.  Wonder how did I missed this one.
PS: If it was just one more month the rest of the competition would have been just erased off clean next to insignificant. :giggle: :giggle:
