I needed to change some bent shafts, and they are of 3.17mm,
i'm not able to find 3.17mm shafts, 3mm just slips through it,
and even hobbyking doesn't seen to have any of those.
Help.
sir i have this shaft... brand new never used... http://www.rcbazaar.com/products/1563-odin-2836-kv3800-for-hiller-450-heli-series.aspx
i think it is 3.17..... pm me if interested....
You could replace it with a 1/8th inch drill bit. Should be available at your local hardware store.
i already called rcbazaar. they said none of the shafts available in their shop are 3.17 mm. they have 3mm only.
thr drill bit wont be one complete shaftas it had the cutting edge.
It will not affect anything as you can easilty tighten your prop saver or collet spinner.
Or find somebody with a lathe and get it machined.
get some .062 diameter piano wire from music supply store and make several shafts
it's well known in the RC world and I've done it myself
.o62 inch is about 1.6 mm. He needs 1/8" or 10 SWG
i saw on some random page while searching on google,
one guy just put some tape onto the 3mm shaft, slides it in and tightened the small hex screw.
Should i try that?
Not tape. If you must, use heat shrink sleeving. But try to get it, try getting SS TIG welding rod 1/8"
TIG welding rod...Brilliant idea sanjay sir!
In SS :D
I meant .125 piano wire. I ordered both .125 and .062 (for small landing gear)
i'll search for the rod. do you think the normal metal work shops who do welding would have them or should i search for online shop?
Jugaad of the highest order! Any Goras (from rcforums?????) reading this would be non plussed, to say the least.
