hence I wrote. I have done this in past and believe me this hobby requires funds you cannot imagine. unless you have ancestral properties lying idle or a good primary business running. you cannot invest and then look for customers. the profit margin is very less almost zero. half the items will not move and you will have to sell at 50% cost.

50% is what i feel is justified. People tell me to order and X product for $100 an later run away , I am the one who is stuck with it. 50% is enough to see the seriousness :) Plus i know some sellers who take full 100% prepayment, mine is still better than that i guess ;)

Please answer my following queries for the benefit of every member;

1. Your product price is not final, because if customs is charged then the customer has to bear it.
2. If Customs held the shipment will you return the money ?
3. If the received product is defective will you replace it ?

So, what value addition you do to the customer ?

Customer can directly order to the sites with all the above risks involved. Why they have to order it through you ?

If you are not "some profit crunching LHS" you could simply share your so called "ways of handling customs" for everyone's benefit.

Yes, I agree that there are some bad LHS. But, remember that they are playing with their own money and not like you do. Customer is free to decide whether to buy from LHS or not. But, once they have paid money to you they have to take delivery from you at any cost. Will you refund the money if the final price is above the quoted price ?

So, get the products in demand instead of taking advance and declare your price then we will see who is competitive.

1> Regarding the 'Not Final' or 'Differential' price as I name it: If a product A costs me Rs1000 and I say that the customer should pay 1300 with DP (Differential Pricing ), This means that if my procuring cost has reduced from 1000 to say 850, I will automatically reduce the amount that I will take from the customer to 1050. It's not like if my PC has reduced, the cost to customer remains the same and I absorb the profit. It's all proportional.

2> Yes as I said, you will have 2 options , either pay the customs and get the product released, which is sometimes still lower than what the LHS offer and also WHICH:
Will be AS IS ( not like some LHS where the customs charges added even if the product is able to skip customs)
I will personally try to make it as low as possible.
OR, the person can opt for a refund, which the customer will get once the product goes back to the source.

3>Generally for 99% of the cases, yes, if it meets the suppliers demands, yes, of course only after checking for issues's existence in actuality.


Value addition to the customer you ask ? well, transparent pricing with guaranteed Lowest price among the LHS. Ain't that the beauty ?

Surely they can, but had it been so easy , there wouldn't be new LHS mushrooming in India and dying soon as we see :) Plus with time and experience you learn a few tricks of the trade which give a definite edge over the others.

Ways of handling customs is actually a very broad term, it incorporates some paths taken which may or may not work, but are worth a shot. After all if it reduces the price, its worth it :)

Customer is as free as a bird, if a bird is thirsty and sees a fresh water lake on one side and a puddle of water on another, you should guess which it would go to :)
And yes, if a situation like that arises, sure, no questions asked money refund. Or if the customer is willing to pay the difference and still get the product ( knowing that even after paying the difference the price is still cheaper than the nearest priced LHS ), he is most welcome.

Getting something in demand or stock pilling and selling at loss when the 'demand' is no more VS getting what people want at that moment and no tension of stocks clearance or similar situations... I would prefer the latter. Its a personal choice.

Something to other LHS here, RC in India is not as big a hobby as it is outside, good competition with good prices and other concerning factors will help it grow, which we need it too. If me sticking for a week helps in that direction or an year, doesn't matter, its all for a greater good.

APM full kit price is really got to be kidding price, recently bought APM mini for almost 11K including customs and free shipping, though Mini APM is priced a little on the higher side, i am still a little not convinced with your 3-4 weeks guarantee as customs holding the package could be longer, sometimes for more than 2 months,

anyways, needing a video goggle(Like a basic fatshark thingy) but will wait for a time to see how things go and you can expect another prospective customer in your list.

While this may be a genuine attempt to provide items to RC India community at reasonable rates, I wish to point out some caveats with this kind of sale.

1.  Item details, pricing and availability are not clearly mentioned on this forum. We do not even allow editing of posts beyond 24 hours just to prevent any later confusion on what was offered versus what was delivered. If the seller controls that aspect completely, I wonder if this would lead into disputes later (we have seen that happen before).
